🚨Extreme heat/Caution this summer🚨

Leaving dogs in a car is a serious form of animal cruelty.

In a matter of a few minutes, the sun's rays can quickly turn the vehicle into a death trap. Parking in the shade is also not an option! You wouldn’t leave your child alone in a car, so why leave your dog?

If you see an animal in a hot car please call law enforcement or your local SPCA / Animal Welfare or AACL. Do not wait for the next person to do the right thing! You are that person!

Please leave all your pets at home. Ensure adequate cool drinking water is always available. Also ensure shelter from the heat. Dogs are not allowed to be tied up so do not do it. It is illegal!

All animals suffering from heat stroke should be taken to your nearest vet asap!

Symptoms: If the dog is salivating, looks about to collapse, vomiting or having seizures.

We are looking for someone who can groom Tiger at his home, in Pinelands on the 19th of December. Someone that will be mindful of him and also mindful of his injury around his neck which has not yet healed fully. He is dirty and very stinky as he has not been washed yet because of his injuries.

Update: Now at AWS

This boy was picked up in buffelsfontein road. He is neutered and microchipped HOWEVER the chip is not registered! 😢. He is safe with us for now and will go to Aws tomorrow if not claimed. Please share so we can find the owner. Positive proof of ownership required.

EDUCATIONAL POST (Not at all intended to bash the owner as accidents happen)

This little girl was brought to us with the possibility of swollowing a small spunge ball.

A Laparotomy was done (as this will not show on an x-ray) to see where this ball is but it was found that she vomited the ball up at some stage prior to the procedure.

The problem now was that due to the constant vomiting the fluid went into her lungs commonly referred to as aspiration pneumonia.

Doctor successfully removed most of the fluid from the lungs and provided injections to ensure her survival. The fact that she survived is nothing short of a miracle!

Two days later and this little girl will be going home happy and healthy. This is just a reminder to always keep an eye on your puppies as they will eat, bite and swollow almost anything. Never leave them unattended with small items laying around.

We are excited to announce that Tiger has found his forever home. A huge thank you to Chantel for adopting this amazing boy. Thank you for opening your home to him. We know that he is going to provide endless love and companionship.

This is not the last of Tiger as he needs to be neutered soon and then vaccinated again. Keep an eye on our page for future updates on him.

Update on Tiger

Tiger has found a forever home pending a home visit/check next week. The practice manager with two other staff members will personally visit the home to ensure everything is in order.

A meet and greet with Tiger's new siblings went very well. His new mom is also very excited to welcome him to his new home.❤️

‼️Attention followers and clients‼️

We have now had more than one occasion where sick kittens are brought to us to be euthanized. When we request information to enable the euthanizations we are met with hostility or unfriendliness. When we request who will be paying for it we are told its so little euthanaze or we can do it for free or it's not the persons kittens. We are then told we have no compassion etc when we ask questions.

Its not about the money but about the fact that euthanaze is a schedule 6 drug and MUST BE KEPT RECORD OFF!

Information must also accompany the euthanization.

We do not offer free services but we do offer welfare rates for those that cannot afford it and we will always go out of our way to help an animal in need or distress but we have protocols that need to be followed and would appreciate it if the public would respect this.

We would also appreciate it that our staff get treated with respect when you enter our practice. Compassion goes both ways.

A huge thank you to our loyal clients that understand that we are also only human, for the support and compassion over the years.
