Both are sterilized.

Being kept safe with us at the Vet.

This little flea was brought to us yesterday. He was rescued from people who were dragging him on a rope in North End. He is full of scabs which makes us believe he was beaten as small as he is. Considering his poor start in life he is still wagging his tail and happy to receive love from the staff. His spirit is not broken.

We recon he is about 12 weeks old. He has been vaccinated, dewormed and treated for his mange.

He will be medium in size.

Adoption fee of R750 will cover his compulsary sterilization at 6 months.

Anyone interested in adopting him can come and view him at the practice. Please only adopt him if you can afford his basic needs and Veterinary care should it arise.

Strict home checks apply.

Update: She is being kept safe at Walmer Vet. Gary will go fetch her from them.

Bella is missing!

Bella ran off from the bus stop across from Woolworths Buffelsfontein when someone kindly stopped to give Gary, her owner a food parcel. He says she ran towards the bush. But she could be anywhere, Greenshoelds Park, Walmer Heights, Walmer etc. He has been to 9th Ave Vet but she is also not there. He will go to AWS later to check as well. Please keep an eye out for her. If you do find her, please bring her to us. She still has her lead around her neck.

Update: Make that 6 cases in one week. 3 today only!

‼️Influx of Parvo cases‼️

We have had 3 parvo cases just the last week. Two in critical condition at our Practice on IV Drips as we speak.

We implore with you the public to please make sure you have your pets vaccinated yearly. Those getting puppies please make sure your puppies are vaccinated at 6 weeks, 10 weeks and 14 weeks. It is imperative they get these 3 to build immunity against this virus and other viruses. The cost of a vaccination is R550. The cost to try and save a parvo dog with us can be anything from R3000 - R6000 depending on how quickly the dog responds to treatment. Prevention is better than cure!

If you get a dog from someone and you have no history of the dog with regards to vaccinations please have him or her vaccinated. In all likelihood a unwanted or abused pet will not be vaccinated.

‼️🛑Attention all clients and potential clients🛑‼️

As from the 1st of January 2025 Mount Pleasant Vet Clinic will no longer provide or allow ACCOUNTS. We are currently sitting with accounts outstanding at R70 000. These clients were individuals whom required help for their pets and promised to pay. Financially capable working individuals. Not welfare cases. We have to struggle month after month, phoning, emailing, watsapping individuals to ask them to pay. This is the reason why most Veterinary practices don't offer accounts. This is a great example thereof. So because of these clients we will unfortunately no longer offer accounts as an option.

We have also decided to retract our offer of welfare rates to the public as most individuals who apply for this option do not want to provide us with the documents in order for us to do a means test and we get told they can even get it for cheaper at other places. We are also met with hostility by these individuals. We did this to help the public but unfortunately we will no longer do this.

We will still help desperate cases such as Tiger but this will be at our own discretion.

We apologize to the public for these drastic measures but unfortunately these individuals made it difficult for others. We are also a business which have commitments, staff, overheads and expenses which must be paid.

Update on Tiger Tiger has found a forever home pending a home visit/check next week. The practice manager with two other staff members will personally visit the home to ensure everything is in order. A meet and greet with Tiger's new siblings went very well. His new mom is also very excited to welcome him to his new home.❤️

We are being so spoiled that we are even too lazy to get up and eat our treat. Thank you to the kind lady for dropping off droewors for him yesterday. A big thanks once again to everyone for your donations. Without you this will not be possible.

Update on Tiger He is doing so well. His first tinkle after his big procedure. He is such a good boy. He doesn't mess in his cage and will wait for us to take him outside. His wounds are also looking so good.

Update on Tiger Tiger is doing exceptionally well. He is also putting on weight. His leg will only be amputated tomorrow. We want him to be in optimum health for the procedure as it is a long procedure. Please note we got more than enough donations and we are extremely thankful. Thank you to everyone that donated. The generosity of the public knocked us off our feet. It's extremely humbling to know that there are so many amazing people out there.
