We strive to change people’s lives through the development of an incredible partnership that we can share with the beautiful, powerful and healing animal- the horse. Favourite Horse's name: Arabian Sniper

Age: 15 years old

*Why you started riding: I saw a group of kids riding and fell in love with horse riding and I begged my parents to let me start riding.

*What you love most about horse riding:I get to be around my favorite animal. It teaches me commitment and dedication. The support and encouragement of the horse riding community is like no other.
I love learning and improving my riding together with Sniper, he is the best team mate I could ever wish for

*Favourite moment with a horse/your horse:When he follows me around for his favorite coconut treats and nudges me for more.

*What your dream/goal is for your riding career:To get to 1* with my horse in eventing

*Your best achievement so far: I felt honored to be awarded the Patrick Brown memorial trophy in 2023 for commitment and dedication to eventing

Meet our team! The Star of Katelands for this week is:

🐎🏆 Ariella Lockem 🏆🐎

*Favourite Horse's name: Jack and Ginger

*Age: 15

*Why you started riding: My mom wanted my sister and I to do a few lessons so that we'd be prepared if we ever went on a fun ride. So when we moved to PE my dad found us Katelands.

*What you love most about horse riding: Seeing the growth and feeling the improvement in my horse and our relationship (and the thrill of eventing).

*Favourite moment with a horse/your horse: Doing XC clinics with my old horse Quil, and realizing that he loves XC just as much as I do.

*What your dream/goal is for your riding career: To become a well-rounded, adaptable rider. To go EV 1* while I'm still a junior, if Jack's ready for it.

*Your best achievement so far: Going EV 95cm and traveling to new eventing grounds with my old horse Quil.

Meet our team! The Star of Katelands for this week is:

✨🌟Tyla Lombard🌟✨

*Name, age and favourite horse's name: My name is Tyla Lombard and I am 15 years old, I’ve been riding for a bit more than 2 years, my favourite pony is probably Jimmy because he is really sweet and his canter is awesome!

*Why you started riding: To be completely honest I started riding because of a TV show. Seeing the connection between rider and horse really inspired me and it also looked like a lot of fun!

*What you love most about horse riding: The thing I love most about riding is probably the feeling of when you get on and all your other problems and worries fade away, the feeling of relief and excitement at the same time.

*Favourite moment with a horse/your horse: My favourite memory is before I started having lessons I asked my mom if we could book an outride and she said yes. On the outride we got onto a straight grass patch and the guide said that him and I can do a canter, he clipped a rope to my bridle so he could steer my horse so all I had to do was hold on for dear life. My word, that was not just a canter!! I will never forget experiencing that exhilarating yet freeing feeling for the first time.

*What your dream/goal is for your riding career: My goal in riding is to be well rounded in all disciplines as each one tests and teaches you in different ways.

*Your best achievement so far: And my biggest achievement so far is probably jumping 80cm!
