FERELS...... So I feed a good 120 + ferels every night and each night when I get to the stations, they come running toward the car when they hear it!
They are overjoyed to get their little bit of food i bring them.
One of my stations at the Potch licence department ( on the N12) where I had a colony of around 22 cats, most of which I sterilized out of my own pocket, started to disappear some 5 weeks ago! Now there are 7 left and a number of kittens (from New cats I have not managed to sterilize!).
However, the other evening while feeding we noticed this cat with a broken off snare around its neck!!! I contacted Darren from PAWS who immediately sent out Michelle and Tokkie to see if they could find him! He was no where! Last night, they went out again and I met with them, Tokkie told me where she saw him.... I went out, found him and trapped him! Michelle took him with to get rid of the snare and possibly relocate him into safety. 🐾🐱🐾

Now this was a 'lucky' one......what about all the others that weren't that lucky????

Snares.....hunting dogs....???

We never found the bodies of the 15 that went missing!!! Let me add, these were all older cats which were settled and I have been feeding for years!

Thank you to PAWS that are now going to
monitor the situation in that area.

All I'd like to say with this.....if you walk in the veld or even parks and you find a snare set up or you find people with free roaming dogs .... hunting..... PLEASE... PLEASE .... PLEASE.... report this to PAWS!

If I take the ferels I feed.....they do NO HARM to anyone, they control the rodents and they mind their own business! They too have a RIGHT to live!

Therefore, PLEASE be vigilant, not only with the cats.....also the dogs being stolen out of the gardens!

If you see something that does not look right, DON'T look the other way..... REPORT IT to PAWS - Potch Animal Welfare Society , ..... PLEASE!

Come and support this awesome event on the 11 November and let's collect LOTS of Dog and Cat food for PAWS! 🐾🐈‍⬛🐕🐾

There will be a variety of stalls from 12 noon, a awesome jumping castle for the
kids, a DJ ensuring some cool music and two motirbike clubs displaying their motorbikes.

At 3pm we have a dog show with 18 dogs from Canine Focus SA displaying their "kind of magic"!

Between 5 and 6 pm, parents/friends that want to drop off a gift earlier for their kids or loved ones or acquaintances are welcome to do so, then Father Christmas and his Two Elves will hand then out to them from under the Christmas Tree! A small gift given with that little bit of Christmas magic!!!

Then at 6pm, the fairly lights will transform the grounds into a wonderland with the gentle music of Christmas carols in English, Afrikaans and German. Our special guest will be a Chello player that will give the evening that unique Christmas flair!

The entry fee is a bag of dog or cat food or wet food for the benefit of PAWS!

Therefore, come, bring a chair, bring the family and your friends,and come and ENJOY this magical event with us!

Absolutely EVERYONE is WELCOME!

A little poem taken from poetry book written in Camberlay, UK.
This photo is of “Camberley Kate”, the lady who roamed the streets with her “stray dogs” cart and picked up all the abandoned. It is said that during her lifetime she rescued and gave a loving home to more than 600 stray dogs.

Today we honor this inspiring lady and her legacy, she dedicated her life to saving dogs and being kind to all animals.
