The name ‘Warlander’ is sadly thrown around loosely nowadays.

This is in part because some think the name denotes ‘all’ horses with a certain crossing (Friesian x Iberian) which may be the case if the horse is eligible and meets the high standards of the International mother studbook – Warlander Studbook Society (WSS 2000), but the fact stands that without authentic documentation from the governing body - the horse is a Friesian/Iberian crossbred

The other aspect is the name ‘Warlander’ makes money.

We hear far too often from people who have purchased horses advertised as Warlander that can’t be registered.

The fact is the Warlander is not easy to breed correctly to the standards of WSS. Over 85% of the Assessment score to move a horse from foal to adult book is based on correct conformation and type.

Not all horses pass.

When you deal with breeders of WSS registered horses you can rest assured they are with the studbook because they have the highest standards in relation to producing Warlander horses internationally and they embrace the fabric that holds the studbook together – unity, honesty and integrity’ .
