Hoekom beskerm ek my troeteldier teen wurms?

Interne parasiete, naamlik wurms, voed op hulle gasheer se voedingstowwe. Dit veroorsaak ‘n reeks van simptome soos ‘n verswakte immuunstelsel en gewigsverlies. Langdurige besmetting kan lei tot aftakeling van sekere organe. Sekere wurmtipes kan ook oorgedra word na mense toe.
Finansieël is dit ook nie lekker nie, want jy voer die wurms in plaas van jou geliefde troeteldier. Dan praat ons nie eers van die behandling van sekere gevalle nie.

Hoe gereeld moet ek my diere ontwurm?

Baba hondjies kan vanaf die ouderdom van 2 weke en baba katjies vanaf 6 weke ouderdom ontwurm word. Ons stel gewoonlik ontwurming voor met elke enting, juis omdat jong diere meer vatbaar is vir parasiete en ook ander siektes. Daar word voorgestel dat volwasse honde elke 3 tot 4 maande ontwurm word.

Hoe hou ek die wurms weg van kinders en 4-voetige kinders?
