🌟 Giving Back to the Community with Woodrock Animal Rescue 🌟

At Value Veterinary Clinic, we're thrilled to announce our contribution to Woodrock Animal Rescue’s Mass Outreach in Atteridgeville this Saturday, 14 September 2024! As part of our birthday month celebration, we’ve proudly donated 200 rabies vaccines to support this incredible initiative.

This outreach is focused on educating the community, administering rabies vaccinations, providing parasite treatments, and organising weekly sterilisations. It’s all thanks to the tireless efforts of amazing people and organisations like Woodrock, along with the kind support of so many.

Our very own Dr. Falon Olfsen is passionate about spreading awareness about Rabies and the importance of vaccination, especially with World Rabies Day coming up on 28 September. Let’s continue to work together to ensure the health and safety of our pets and communities!

Woodrock Animal Rescue’s Mass Outreach is on track thanks to wonderful supporters. ✨🫶🏽🐕

We are absolutely ecstatic and profoundly thankful to share some fantastic news regarding our upcoming mass outreach in Atteridgeville this Saturday, September 14th, 2024! After a tense delay in obtaining our rabies vaccinations, we reached out to Value Veterinary Clinic in Hazelwood, where the remarkable Natasha responded to our plea for assistance. Thanks to their incredible generosity, the clinic has donated 200 rabies injections to aid Woodrock Animal Rescue’s outreach! 🐾

This outreach focuses on four essential goals: education, compiling a list for our weekly sterilizations, administering rabies vaccinations, and providing parasite treatments. But that's not all—thanks to the steadfast support of our amazing community, we will also be distributing animal food along with pre-packed bags of clean, high-quality clothing generously donated by our supporters. From tidy bras and underwear to gently used apparel, we are truly embodying the saying: "One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!"

We are eager to make a meaningful impact in Atteridgeville, and it’s all made possible by the strength of community and kindness. Let’s keep this spirit thriving!

Remember all mammals can get infected by rabies. The common signs of rabies are: Changes in behaviour and neurological symptoms, which may include the following signs: Excessive salivation, paralysis, inability to swallow, continuous vocalisation, convulsions, aggressiveness, or non-responsive behaviour.

Report any suspected rabid animals immediately to your state or private veterinarian, animal health technician or the police.

Are your dogs and cats up to date with their rabies vaccinations? Protect them and you!

Help Valco Run Again: A Mandela Day Appeal

At Value Veterinary Clinic, we’re dedicated to the well-being of every animal that comes through our doors. Today, we want to introduce you to Valco, a brave 11-month-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a spirit that refuses to give up. 🐶

Valco’s journey with us began when his loving owners noticed he was struggling to walk. After thorough examinations, our team discovered that Valco needs a Double Pelvic Osteotomy surgery - a specialised procedure that will give him the chance to run and play like every puppy should. Without this surgery, Valco faces a future filled with pain and limited mobility. 🥹

In honour of Mandela Day, we are launching a special fundraiser to cover the R40,000 required for Valco’s surgery. Mandela Day is all about taking action to inspire change, and we believe there’s no better way to honour this legacy than by helping Valco get the life-changing surgery he needs.
