Farmina whose Italian heritage dates back to 1965 has recently landed in SA and we are proud to stock this exceptional food. We also stock Amigo, a proudly South African food that is made with top-quality ingredients and is wheat gluten-free! Nala Health is an amazing

new food we have just launched, this food is very unique, using insects as a protein source! This is perfect for dogs that tend to be allergic to different meats. Also it is very nutritious and completely balanced - even locally made. We love to support our local brands. Assistance Dog Week celebrates the dedicated service and companionship provided by assistance dogs worldwide. It's a time to honour these amazing animals and recognize their roles in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Lea-Anne, owner of Wolf & Hound Pet Care, has a service dog named Skye! She is such a wonderful dog and has improved life beyond words!

Mashaan from our Cape Town branch has a service dog in training named Kohaku and he is learning so fast! Mashaan was Skye's foster mom and assisted greatly with her training. Both dogs are trained through Honey's Garden in Cape Town. Please have a look at their links:

🐾 Monday Myth Buster: “Punishment stops Puppy Biting” 🐾

Forget the old-school methods! Punishing puppy biting is not the answer.
Here’s how to curb this common behaviour:

1️⃣ Catch Some Z’s: Make sure your pup gets enough sleep (20 hours to be exact) Like babies, tired puppies are more likely to be irritable and nippy.
2️⃣ Mental Enrichment: Stimulate your pup’s mind with interactive toys, puzzles, and training sessions. A mentally tired pup is less likely to resort to biting out of boredom.
3️⃣ Redirect, Don’t Reprimand: When your puppy starts to nibble, redirect their attention to appropriate chew toys. Consistently rewarding good behaviour helps them understand what’s acceptable. Let’s build a bond based on trust and positive reinforcement! 🐶💕
