This boy was once someone's pet—but whether he got lost or was abandoned, we'll never know, because no one is looking for him. For months, he struggled to survive, scavenging for food while facing threats from unkind community members.

Thanks to one of our kind-hearted cat volunteers, he was trapped, tested, sterilised, and vaccinated yesterday. Now, he's safe, warm, and well-fed.

It will take time for him to trust humans again, but at least now, he has a second chance.

Snowy - she has come a long way from being rescued from an informal settlement to now.

Somehow she looks a little bit like a mini polar bear. Yes, she might me slightly on the heavy side, but after having to survive on scraps, she can't stop eating and we are indulging that a little.

Snowy has developed into such a happy girl. She runs, plays and is just loving life!

Feral cats did not ask to be homeless. They have sadly been let down by humans.

We are working hard to improve their lives by
sterilising to help break the breeding cycle, control the cat population, and reduce the number of homeless cats in the area.

Yesterday another 2 cats were sterilised - no more babies for them.l!

We are doing our happy dance! After 3 months and 1 day, Billy has been found!

He is safe and back with us, doing well.

A huge thank you to Emma, a caring community member who spotted him and sent us a photo. We rushed to the area, called for him, and set a trap—our efforts paid off within a few hours!

Welcome home, our precious boy ❤️.

We always seem to take in the sick, injured, and special-needs kitties.

Little Toby was rescued from a feral colony, covered in ticks and fleas, and terribly ill with snuffles. Sadly, he also has a large hernia that needs surgical repair this Thursday.

Any contributions towards his surgery would be greatly appreciated.
Donations can be made directly to our vet account:

Trapping at a feral colony is never predictable. Some nights, luck is on our side, and we quickly catch the number of cats we set out to trap. Other times, we wait for hours, watching and hoping—only to catch one, two, or none at all.

Last night, our goal was six. We managed to trap two. Still, that’s two lives changed, and we’ll take every small victory!

One particular long-haired tom, the father of many, continues to outsmart us. He circles the trap, lounges beside it—sometimes even on top of it—but refuses to go inside. Next time, Tom… we’ll get you! 🤞

The two cats we trapped have now been sterilized, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for ticks and fleas.

Every contribution helps us continue this work. If you’d like to support our efforts, donations can be made to:

Layla is up for adoption - Pretoria

Layla was found as a stray a few weeks ago, (no chip) we advertised extensively and she is now up for adoption.
This loving confident young lady has now been tested, vaccinated, sterilised and microchipped. She is around 6 months old, the perfect age for someone who wants to adopt a young playful kittie but don’t want a young kitten. She is good with other cats and dogs.
For adoption info contact Liezel (Cat's 9 Lives): 0824956604
