Our Formidable Specialist Team:
Dr. Hermien Viljoen – Small Animal Specialist Surgeon, Director, and Shareholder. Dr. Viljoen performs between 6 and 12 specialist surgeries every day, including complex procedures such as bone fracture repairs, cruciate ligament surgeries, IVDD surgeries, urostomy surgeries, tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) surgeries, hip and elbow joint surgeries, skin grafts, foreign body removals, nephrectomies, liver and lung lobectomies, BOAS surgeries, and more. Each of these surgeries requires meticulous planning and precision to ensure favorable outcomes. Dr. Viljoen is known for going the extra mile for her patients, always tackling challenges with determination. We are truly grateful to work under her expert guidance.
Dr. Paul Mellor – Board-Certified Internal Medicine Specialist, Head of the Medicine Department. Dr. Mellor is internationally recognized as one of the most sought-after veterinary specialists in South Africa. His approach to internal medicine is thorough and methodical. His expertise spans endocrinology, nephrology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, hepatology, and more. Dr. Mellor has made groundbreaking contributions to veterinary medicine, including diagnosing rare diseases that have been featured in veterinary articles. His immense knowledge is deeply valued by his clients, patients, and colleagues.
Dr. Ulrike Kafka – Specialist Veterinary Radiologist and Diagnostic Imager. Dr. Kafka oversees all MRI, CT, and radiographic interpretations and reports. She is also a key player in our internship and internal CPD programs, sharing her expertise and sharp clinical eye with our team every day. Her exceptional interpreting skills and her ability to make critical decisions based on clinical relevance have ensured the best outcomes for many of our patients.
