Terrouges Equestre was founded in 1988 when Maureen Beyers started a humble equestrian centre on the outskirts of Pretoria in order to fulfill her passion for horses which now boasts one of the best Equestrian facilities around. All buildings and arenas are according to FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) standards and we pride ourselves in “doing it correctly, from the very beginning”. Terro

We occasionally invite outside instructors, be it from overseas to across provincial borders and present training and Graded shows, as well as seminars and clinics. .adison.botha and “Ekeneb Winter” at Horse of the Year show 2025

Winter and Madi have been a force to be reckoned with for the past 6 years: they worked their way up to Medium Dressage and 1m jumping.
They still have an incredibly strong bond, and still compete, even though Madi has moved a lot of her attention over to her horse Eclipse.
These two still compete regularly, but have toned down the workload somewhat, focussing on fun events 🍒

🌟 Intern position available from January 2025 🌟

We have an intern/student position available at Terrouges, where you'll be working closely with the yard owner, Instructors and Clients.

We will prepare you (free of charge) for all the SANIP modules.
The position is voluntary but has great opportunities to earn an income as you acquire skills.

There is accommodation to rent within 10min walking distance from the yard. (R2500 or R3000 pm)

Some of the daily duties and responsibilities:
Riding
Lungeing
Stretching horses
Tack cleaning
Keeping track of medication
After-care of sick/injured horses
Carriage training
Harness preparation
Show assistance
Competition arrangements & scribing
Plaiting, trimming
Vet assistance
Giving supplements and snacks to horses

Terrouges takes in 2 Pretoria Technikon or SANIP students every year for their practical training at en equestrian institution. They are selected based on attitude, work ethic and equestrian passion.
