Terrouges Equestre was founded in 1988 when Maureen Beyers started a humble equestrian centre on the outskirts of Pretoria in order to fulfill her passion for horses which now boasts one of the best Equestrian facilities around. All buildings and arenas are according to FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) standards and we pride ourselves in “doing it correctly, from the very beginning”. Terro

uges Equestre offers horse riding lessons in a number of disciplines, including dressage, show jumping and carriage driving. We occasionally invite outside instructors, be it from overseas to across provincial borders and present training and Graded shows, as well as seminars and clinics. Competitive as well as non-competitive riders and carriage-drivers welcome!

🌟 Intern position available from January 2025 🌟

We have an intern/student position available at Terrouges, where you'll be working closely with the yard owner, Instructors and Clients.

We will prepare you (free of charge) for all the SANIP modules.
The position is voluntary but has great opportunities to earn an income as you acquire skills.

There is accommodation to rent within 10min walking distance from the yard. (R2500 or R3000 pm)

Some of the daily duties and responsibilities:
Riding
Lungeing
Stretching horses
Tack cleaning
Keeping track of medication
After-care of sick/injured horses
Carriage training
Harness preparation
Show assistance
Competition arrangements & scribing
Plaiting, trimming
Vet assistance
Giving supplements and snacks to horses
