Encouraging our Facebook community to respond to a message from the Presidency:

"We have created a national campaign to encourage continued solidarity and collective action to fight the coronavirus, which we have begun to roll out across the country this week. The campaign encourages people to “Stay Home, Save South Africa," and we hope that it will reach all of our people in their homes, through radio, television and print media, and in the stores and workplaces that they visit for essential purposes.
We need this campaign to be amplified widely, both to maintain national morale and to encourage South Africans to adhere to public health guidelines.
For this reason, we are calling on business, civil society and social partners to display the official campaign symbol in your stores and offices, to distribute it to your members, colleagues and employees, and to feature it in any advertising or additional campaigns that you create in the weeks and months to come.
We hope that it will become a shared national symbol that is seen everywhere, by everyone. We would be grateful for your help in making this possible, as a contribution to our collective effort"

For all those that prefer to donate in rands, we have removed PayPal as an option for payment, thereby removing dollars as the preferred currency.

If you have anything extra to give it would be most appreciated, this initiative needs to raise R100 000 in 9 days. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Please click on the link below to read more on the 3 initiatives needing funding.

A call for support

A Christmas project to give the orphaned, abandoned and abused children of Huis Ebenhaeser an unforgettable Christmas celebration and holiday. Huis “Ebies” is an orphanage and house of safety situated in Daspoort who currently houses ~30 children between the ages of 2 and 18. Unfortunately as a result of the current economic climate and not being able to contribute to a score on their donor’s BEE Certificates, Huis Ebies has lost almost all of its financial support.

There is still a huge need for involvement for Huis Ebies as we approach the end of the year. There are 3 initiatives that need support:

1. Christmas Function

For Saturday’s Christmas function the following is still needed:

30 x gifts for goodie bags for kids (we only have 1 book for each at this stage)
4 x gifts for the adult caregivers
2 x gifts for the children that are also training as caregivers
More volunteers to assist
A Christmas Party will be held at Wetnose Animal Rescue Centre who have sponsored a beautiful day filled with a special talk, farm animal visits and allowing each child to “adopt” a pet for the day for a fun walk. They have also included jumping castles, a soft toy play park and a gladiator slide for the children. Each child will select a dog to for the walk, but unfortunately, same cannot be done without adult supervision and an adult volunteer is required per child. We therefore require volunteers for the day. We are currently on 15 adult volunteers and need 15more.

When: 30 November 2019

Time: 10:00 – 14:00

Where: Wetnose, Vaalbank, Bronkhosrtspruit AH (27km from PTA East)

Cost: R 70 (for braai pack & salads) per person

Important: Please bring your children along.

2. December Holiday and School 2020

Target Amount: R 100 000

Huis Ebies have been granted the use of a house by the beach. We are trying to raise sufficient funds for them to go this year. This includes cash donations, food gift vouchers etc. We would highly appreciate it if you could share it with your network. This is a highlight for the children as Huis Ebies has very limited space and play areas for the children.

The target amount also includes preparation for the new school year as all the children need school clothes and stationary.

3. School Bags

We are aiming to provide each child with a proper durable personalised schoolbag. R 425 x 26 children. The children highly value personalised items and we would therefore like to have each child’s name printed on the bag.

Note: Attached: Huis Ebies Profile (Please note that the profile is purely for this email distribution purposes and no photos may be placed on social media as some of the children are under protection orders)

Please support these kids, they need it. For any queries please call Thalana Jacobs on 00279401900 or 0027722054779 email [email protected].
