Vreeslik baie dankie vir die mooi brief en al die liefde en omgee terwyl hulle by julle was. Woorde sal nooit verduidelik hoe baie dit vir ons beteken dat ons 4-potige kinders veilig by ons aangekom het nie. Hulle is so mooi gesond en vol liefde en die mooi persoonlikhede soos ons hulle ken. Regtig so baie dankie vir alles! Sal defnitief af en toe fotos of videos stuur van hulle.

Ons huis lyk nog bitter leeg want ons wag nog vir ons meubels en sal eers oor 6 weke kom 😅 so verskoon asb die hartseer omgewing. Tenminste n hele area net vir hulle 2 om onophoudelik te speel 😁

Melbourne, Caulfield North Off Leash Dog Park...
Yesterday, 24 March, Pierre and myself met up with doggies and their pawrents relocated to Australia (Melbourne) by Berrakaw Pet Transport! This was a wonderful, happy tails (and tales) event! Many pets arrive at our facility without us meeting their owners. It was great meeting some owners for the very 1st time and amazing giving our babies a hug again! A huge shoutout to everyone who took the time and made the effort to meet up with us! We really appreciate you!
Up to Sep 24, we have relocated more than a 1000 pets from SA to Australia!

An important piece of 'information' when considering relocating FROM Australia...
It may be wise to get an RNATT done PRIOR to departure...

Unless the dog had blood drawn for an RNATT which was analysed at the Australia Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP; formerly known as the Australian Animal Health Laboratory; ACDP Lab Services - Home (csiro.au) before exporting Australia, then they must wait the 180 days from when the blood sample is received at the laboratory.

If an ACDP was done, they are valid for 12 months and would mean they could return at any time.

The widely recognised maximum incubation period for rabies in cats and dogs is six months or 180 days – hence the 180-day waiting period following the blood draw for an RNATT with a valid result. If a cat or dog shows no clinical signs of rabies for 180 days following a valid RNATT then it can be concluded that it is not carrying rabies virus and allow it to enter Australia. For this reason, the Australian import conditions have been developed that, cats and dogs entering from rabies-endemic countries are to be vaccinated against rabies and show proven immunity to the disease for at least 180 days prior to entry.

Berrakaw Pet Transport management off on an important business trip to Dubai, Australia & NZ.
1st Pit Stop: Emirates Dubai. Unfortunately no cameras/photos allowed within the SkyCargo buildings. However, as we have met with all the managers of departments physically responsible for the handling of our pets and we were escourted through the AVI (live animals) holding areas, we can confirm that pets are well cared for during their transit layover in Dubai. Emirates endeavours to ever increase the quality of care they provide to all pets. The transit areas are located on the airport premises but Dubai Kennels & Cattery under the professional hand of Janet, has been awarded the contract to physically care for the pets in transit. Pets are removed from their crates and allowed to stretch their legs in kennels. Travel crates (and pets) are cleaned if required. Cats and dogs are kept in separate enclosures.
Pierre and myself visited Dubai Kennels & Cattery (DKC) and would gladly reccommend this facility to owners of dogs, cats, birds and rabbits should they seek a place for their pets to be kept safe for some time. DKC also assists with imports and exports of pets.
We are very excited about Monday afternoon's meeting!

In the meantime we are enjoying Melbourne and seeing our kids and grandkids after nearly 4 years...
