**NOT FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS**
Saying goodbye to our brave warrior, Brownie.
This is Brownie's journey..
Brownie, our brave three-legged warrior, has finally going home.
It's been a long, tough road since that fateful day, nearly a month ago, when a car left her for dead.
We were heartbroken.. pregnant, crushed back leg, fractured front leg, and wounds that mirrored the pain etched in her eyes.
But Brownie, had other plans. Dr Johan Naude saw a flicker of hope, and we took a leap of faith. The vet removed the unborn pups, sadly, casualties of the accident, and then... the rest of surgeries began, over a period of time.
Five surgeries in total. Back leg knee was crushed and the leg had to be amputated and a orthopedic metal plate and screws was surgically fitted to the fractured front leg . Brownie is definitely in the top 10 of most severe cases, as well as most surgeries been performed on her in this period of time at our practice. Yet, with all this, Brownie never lost her fighting spirit. She enjoyed being outdoors on the grass with Ken, the resident dog of the practice, and inspired all the people that came to visit their pets while she was being treated and rehabilitated.
As we watch her hop happily towards the car on her new journey, it's impossible not to feel a lump in our throats. Tears of sadness for the hardships she faced, but tears of immense joy for the spirit she never broke.
Brownie, you're more than just a dog. You're a testament to resilience, a beacon of hope. You taught us that even when life throws you curveballs, you can get up on three legs and keep running.
Thank you, Randfontein Dierehospitaal - Veearts Dr. Johan Naude, for giving Brownie a chance. And thank you, Brownie, for reminding us that even in the darkest moments, there's always a reason to wag your tail.
