Just when you think you've seen the smallest, tiniest little Min Pin ever and they simply could not get smaller, THIS little boy arrives. He is absolutely TINY but with a HUGE personality and so very brave, such a little boy and now homeless. Please give him a home very soon? He is PRECIOUS!

ALL ANIMALS NEED SHELTER

Dogs are vulnerable to changes in the weather and if they are outdoors, even during the day while you are at work, you need to provide a place of safety and shelter from all types of weather.
The Animals Protection Act 71 of 1962 is national legislation.

Section 2 of the Act states that it is an offence to keep an animal in conditions of confinement or in a manner that causes them unnecessary suffering or in any place that lacks space, ventilation, light, protection or shelter from heat, cold or weather.

Never allow your pet to be uncomfortable. If he shows signs that he is cold outdoors, review his sleeping area. A cold dog may whimper, tuck his tail between his legs or flatten his ears against his head. Your dog may also appear restless, or he may wrap himself into a tight ball and start shivering. If your pet shows signs that he isn’t coping outdoors and you are able to provide a warmer place inside, do so for the comfort of your pet.

BY LAW ALL ANIMALS MUST HAVE ADEQUATE SHELTER FROM THE ELEMENTS
Rain, wind, hail, sun, heat, thunder

All living creatures need a place of safety, a kennel/ a hutch/an aviary/a stable/ these are their places of safety.

*Your dog’s kennel must be waterproof, raised off the ground and have adequate clean bedding.
*The kennel must be of adequate size for the breed of dog
*Each dog must have its own kennel
*The kennel must be waterproof
*The entrance to the kennel must have a type of awning to stop rain from wetting the kennel inside
*If possible, place the kennel under a roof for extra protection from the elements
****NEVER USE A METAL KENNEL In winter it is a fridge and in summer an oven****
*Raise the kennel up off the ground with either bricks or a wooden pallet, this will help keep the kennel dry.
*Glue a piece of carpet to the floor of the kennel, you can always pull it up and replace it from time to time
*If your dog pulls their blanket out of the kennel, make two small holes at the base of the kennel, push a piece of rope through the holes and tie it securely to the blanket. (Google “How to tie a rope to a cloth” for directions)
*Your dog's bedding must always be dry and clean
*In winter give them a warmer thicker blanket

In order to adopt, you need to come in to meet the dog you would like to adopt and then complete an application form, after which a homecheck will be done (and a compatibility test if you have other dogs) - if approved, the doggy can go home after having been sterilised, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed; adoption fee is all-inclusive and is R1200 for adult dogs and puppies. You will need to bring your ID and proof of residence when applying. R100 deposit is payable when applying, which is deducted from the adoption fee.
