Today the academy says goodbye to Savannah. You were the first dog I ever trained at the young age of 13. You sparked a fire of passion in me that still burns bright even to this day. Thank you for all that you taught me and for all the patience you had while I made mistakes. Thank you for always giving your best and always being willing to try no matter what. I learned so many things during our 12 years together and can only hope to continue to learn and grow as a trainer. You will be missed ❤️🐾

Are you meeting their needs?

As dog owners, our goal is to have a well-balanced dog physically, mentally, and emotionally. A well-balanced dog has a reduced risk of developing unwanted behaviors due to lack of stimulation like excessive barking, destruction tendencies, digging, etc. While many different factors play into why a behavior develops, ensuring all the dog's needs are being met is always a good starting point to reduce unwanted behaviors and overall improve your dog's health.

Ensure your dog gets enough physical and mentally stimulating. This can be done through walks, playing games, sniffing puzzles, training, or breed-specific activities and chews!

Dogs are social creatures so ensure your dog gets enough social interaction with you, your family, and other reliable/safe dogs, as well as getting to partake in activities that enjoy doing as this will help your dog be emotionally balanced. This can help reduce frustration, boredom, loneliness, and depression that can lead to unwanted behaviors developing.
