Hop Haven Hop Haven Bunny Rescue is a rescue centre aimed at finding forever homes for unwanted bunnies. Please note that we are NOT open to the public!

We raise awareness and educate the public about the correct care of rabbits. Hop Haven Bunny Rescue is home to around 50-80 bunnies that have been rescued from a number of different circumstances. We run primarily on the money that is brought in through our Open Day shops and with donations. We rescue, sterilise and give bunnies a safe and loving home until they find their forever homes. ion procedure is fairly simple and we do whatever we can to find our bunnies the best homes that they deserve. Each bunny has their own personality and individual preferences. Introducing Winter 🩵

Winter has been in foster care with one of our fosters for a while and is patiently waiting for a home of his own 🏡

About Winter:

🤍 Male, neutered
🤍 11 months old
🤍 Beautiful blue eyed boy
🤍 Shy but enjoys cuddles

Winter hasn't been getting along well with the other bunnies with our foster so we are hoping to bond him with his own friend (possibly a girl) or have him adopted out alone with the opportunity for him to come meet some suitable buddies once he's more settled in his own new environment 🌼

Winter loves his snuggle bed and loves getting cuddles! He joins his foster humans on the couch in the evenings and loves to spend time getting petted and exploring 🤍

Winter has been neutered and is a healthy, sweet boy ready to start his new journey 🐰

This adorable pair of boys are ready for a place to call home 🏡

About the boys:
Puff:
🌼 Black wooly
🌼 Male, neutered
🌼 4 months old
🌼 Super sweet, friendly calm boy
Bowie:
🌼 Grey wooly
🌼 Male, neutered
🌼 4 months old
🌼 Relaxed, snuggly boy

These sweet boys are closely bonded and would suit a home together, preferably a mostly indoor home as their fur can get knotty outside. Being wooly bunnies, it is important to keep their fur brushed out or short to prevent matting.

All these boys' siblings have been adopted to amazing homes and have become such loving, spoiled bunnies. I really hope these angels can get lucky enough to find an awesome home too 🐇

Midge & Munchkin 🐰🤍

These two angels have been in our care since the day they were born and are now finally ready to be adopted!

I usually do not allow different gender babies stay together but these two were so tightly bonded from tiny that i decided to keep them together, just separating and keeping them close by until both have been sterilized.

And now we are happily reunited and ready for a place to call home 🤍🌼

This pair is something out of a Beatrix Potter book, with their giant ears and big zoomies. They are super loving towards people and each other 🐰 they are playful and so so sweet!

About the bunnies:
🎀 Midge: light grey, male (neutered)
🎀 Munchkin: dark grey, female (spayed)
🎀 Age: 6 months old
🎀 History: These babies were born in our care just days after we rescued their family from the streets of Strand. Mom unfortunately couldn't look after her new babies and we lost a few. Midge and Munchkin were the last survivors that I took to hand raise. They are now healthy, massive, gorgeous bunnies who would love a forever home!
🎀 Personality: Midge is confident and playful, whereas Munchkin is softer and more gentle. Both are used to people around often and young calm children 🩷

Midge and Munchkin are very special bunnies who need a beautiful, loving forever home to care for them 🐰

Bonnie & Yogi 🤍

This duo of sassy bunnies have found each other and are best of buds now!

Yogi has been with us for a while now and Bonnie has recently been rescued but she fit in so well with Yogi, it seems like she's been here forever 🤍

Bonnie and Yogi are both full-grown bunnies who would love an outdoor space to run and play 🐇 they are curious, playful , and full of attitude. They do not like to be cuddled, chased or picked up. A home without young children would be ideal as these buns would like to hang out in peace and quiet and come up to their human for a snacky if they feel like it.

Both bunnies have been sterilized already and are in good health. Bonnie will just need to be brushed and trimmed regularly to keep her fur from matting. Both bunnies are around 2-3 years old 🐰🌷

There is a reduced adoption fee of R300 for the pair. We just really want them to go to a great home! A long-term foster would even be excellent for them 🐇

🤍 A very big thank you to those who supported our protest! 🤍

For those who don't know the cause, we do not support Petworld and other pet shops that sell live animals. There are countless reasons for this, mostly including:

❗️Selling animals contributes to the overpopulation and increases the dumping rates
❗️Most animals are sold with incorrect housing and diet and new pet owners are left uneducated about their new pet
❗️ This leads to more dumping or surrendering to rescues when the new pet "becomes too much"
❗️Pet shops often sell animals too young, which paired with the incorrect beddings and diet, leaves the animals getting ill and passing away early on in their lives
❗️ Petshops do not sterilize their animals or inform their customers of the importance of sterilizing, whereas rescues include this procedure in their adoption fees. Sterilizing is incredibly important, especially with bunnies and can be extremely expensive when working through private vets
❗️Small rescues like Hop Haven are left to deal with stray bunnies, feral colonies born from dumped pets, animals left in the streets to get run over or eaten, etc which gets overwhelming and hard to manage!
❗️ Animals are not products and should not be treated as such

By supporting a rescue, you are making a huge difference in animals' lives!

WELL DONE EVERYONE-And thank you for being the voice for these helpless animals.

Warning to stores selling animals and keeping them in disgraceful conditions.
Stop looking at your bottom line and THINK about the animals you are selling.
You keep the animals in habitats that are far too small.
You dont know what to feed them.
You don't know how to s*x them, so bunnies etc, are breeding.
You are selling animals that have been taken away from their mom's fartoo young.
You sell tiny cruel cages.
Do you do homehecks?
Or do you just care about the sale?

We will be the animals voice and no, it's not going to stop.
You dont have a clue how emotionally strong animal rescuers are, and they are not afraid of standing up to you.
Shame on you and all who buy from you.

Meet Apollo 🐰🤍

Apollo and his siblings were taken in after their mom was rescued and had a big litter of babies shortly after. Unfortunately their rescuer could not keep all 8 babies so Hop Haven stepped in to find them all amazing, loving homes 🫶🏼

Unfortunately, this will be tricky as all 8 babies are fluffy wooly bunnies which very few people opt for when adopting. They do need more grooming and maintenance than your short haired bunnies but once you have a good grooming routine, it should be smooth sailing 🩷

Little Apollo is such a friendly, busy boy! He loves to be snuggled and will run up to greet you any chance he gets 🥰

🩵 Age: 2 months old
🩵 Personality: very friendly & social
🩵 Compatibility: loves humans, loves other bunnies!

Baby girl, Ellie, is ready and waiting for a home and family to call her own! 🩷

This little bug is the friendliest and most loving girl ever - she loves her humans and adores other bunnies 🤍 she is the zoomie queen and loves showing off how fast she is with her crazy twists and turns ✨️

Ellie would make an excellent buddy for any single bunny or groups looking to add another hopper 🐰 she loves to be in the middle of the snuggle puddle and hang out with her bunny friends! She is super cuddly too and wants to be petted and snuggled as much as possible by her humans 💓

Ellie is around 10 weeks old now and is a healthy, happy young lady. She will be spayed through our vets when she is around 6 months old 🌷
