Hop Haven Bunny Rescue is a rescue centre aimed at finding forever homes for unwanted bunnies. Each bunny has their own personality and individual preferences.

We raise awareness and educate the public about the correct care of rabbits. Hop Haven Bunny Rescue is home to around 50-80 bunnies that have been rescued from a number of different circumstances. We run primarily on the money that is brought in through our Open Day shops and with donations. We rescue, sterilise and give bunnies a safe and loving home until they find their forever homes. UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone who shared and donated! We managed to reach and surpass our goal which means that every one of these bunnies are on their way to a new life 🤍 And there's even a bit extra to cover their feeding costs for the month!

It is one of the worst times of the year to be asking for assistance but here we are, praying thay we can help these sweethearts 🤍

It's raining bunnies at the Haven and we are trying our very best to help every bunny that needs us with our limited funds, resources, space and man power.

These bunnies need to be removed from this lady's home this week otherwise she's going to "set them free and let nature take its course" which is an awful thing for these poor creatures to go through.

Our amazing, dedicated fosters and volunteers have rallied together to provide a safe space and lifts for the bunnies to stay until they can get to the vets for their steries and to the Haven to be safe.

If anyone is able to donate even R50 towards the care of these cuties, we would be so appreciative! We really cannot continue to help the bunnies that need us without the support of our fellow bunny lovers 🩷

Also note that we do have an NPO number and can issue tax certificates to donors (to arrange, please pop us a message) 🌷

Cecelia was originally found in a field all by herself and her rescuers took her in and took great care of her. Unfortunately, circumstances changed and this sweetheart is looking for her forever home.

She is a sweet girl and gets along super well with other bunnies. She's fitted right into our sanctuary already 🐰

Baby bunnies!!!

Our little cuties are up for adoption 🤍

Their mommies were rescued from a primary school where they were running free and getting hurt by the children. The adults have been sterilized and are staying at our Haven and the little ones are ready to find a loving family 🌸🌿

We have 6 boys and 6 girls left looking for their forever homes 🐰 they will be sent in same-sex pairs or groups to their new homes and sterilization will be arranged through the Haven for when they are old enough.

These little ones are 2.5 months old now and are very curious and busy! They would absolutely love to find a fnaily and home to call their own 🐰

Blu was rescued as a youngster and has lived his very best life with his bunny buddies. Unfortunately his owners could not keep the bunnies anymore due to a change in their lives but are supporting them fully while they live at Hop Haven 🐰🐰

These two tiny beans have a very very special place in my heart. They were rescued 3 years ago from farmers who wanted to let them and their siblings free on the farm because they were breeding out of control (There were 20+ bunnies in a tiny hutch)

I couldn't let anything happen to these sweethearts so took them all in and everyone got adopted except for Sammy and Violet.

They have been waiting for over a year to find a family to call their own. They have hopped between foster homes and have spent tome at our sanctuary but I have had no luck finding them the right home 💔

Sammy & Violet are both sterilized, house trained, lovingvery bonded, healthy, beautiful dwarf bunnies 🤍

Joy is one of our sweet girls that was rescued from Durbanville Graveyard and has landed up living her best life safely at our sanctuary 🐰

Meet little Yogi 🤍

This sweet bean was rescued off the streets and his rescuers took such good care of him. Eventually they decided that Yogi needed more space and a bunny friend or two, which they couldn't provide for him so they have brought him to our Haven and are sponsoring his stay with us until he gets adopted 🤍

This sweet boy is super friendly, full of love and adores being around people! He's fitted in very well with our sanctuary bunnies and has mase himself quite at home.

Yogi is now ready and waiting for his forever home!

Our Cora girl got a little summer cut and groom today 🌷🌼

With around 10 woolies staying at our sanctuary, it can be very difficult to keep them all looking fresh. Now that the weather is getting better, my aim is to freshen up all my long haired babies so they can be fresh and comfy for summer!

Meet Ella 🌸

Little Ella is a dwarf girl who was given to one of our adopters last week because "our kid is bored of it". Thankfully, she ended up with us, rather than being "donated" to a school which was these people's original plan. Ella was dropped off in a picnic basket filled with sawdust which we found out she has been living in her whole life. She's been put in a much better home now and is on a healthy bunny diet now too 🙏🏼🤍

Meet sweet little Roberto - our newest little buddy.

Roberto was originally found living on the streets and was taken in by a loving family who took such good care of him. Unfortunately, they need to move overseas and reached out to us to help rehome little Roberto 🌸

He is used to living outdoors and being around people but does not like to be picked up or cuddled. Roberto would love a similar home with people who understand that he doesn't wat to be picked up but will hang out with him and possibly give him a girlfriend to love 🌿🤍

Baby girls!

Our oldest litter that was born from the graveyard bunnies that we caught are ready for their forever homes 🤍

They are stunning and are very lucky to have been raised in a loving foster home that helped them to be comfortable around people 🫶🏼🌻

We are very glad that these babies don't have to go through the same horrors as their parents living at the graveyard, suffering, watching their siblings get eaten or getting ill with no one to care for them. They are safe now, as are their parents 🤍

These sweet girls are around 10 weeks old now and are ready and waiting for a family to call their own 🐰 they can be adopted in same-sex pairs or as a friend to a single bunny looking for a bestie.

All our baby bunnies will leave with a spay/neuter contract to be sterilized through one of our vets when they are old enough (boys @ 4 months, girls @ 6 months)

The world's sweetest trio 🤍🤍

These buns have been with us for ages with not a single application. I will never stop trying to find them the perfect home where they can all be together forever 🫶🏼

This bunch has been tricky to adopt out as the girls are quite scared of people. Heather (grey) was a feral bunny who just never learned that us humans aren't all that bad. Lily (white) has been with us since she was a few weeks old and has just decided that she just wants to be around bunnies. Tiger (brown) is the glue that holds this little trio together. He loves both girls so much and will hop between the two to share his kisses when they're not all snuggled together. He loved human attention too and will snuggle in your arms and loves head rubs.

Sadly, our more "anti-social" bunnies never get picked for adoption and they end up living most of their life at the Haven but i would so love for these cuties to find a home where they can be themselves 🤍

This trio would love a mostly outdoorsy home that is safe, secure and allows them to have some sunny spots to stretch out and sleep in as well as some hidey areas and tunnels to play in. They're a fairly independent bunch which is perfect for a busy family who would love some fur balls around. They also prefer to nap most of the day and are a lazy bunch so they don't even need a giant garden.

Mochi was rescued from Vredekloof dam last year, was neutered and brought to the sanctuary to be put up for adoption. His first couple of years was very stressful and traumatic as he had to fight for survival. Our boy is still shy and nervous around people but he is improving with time!
