Hop Haven Bunny Rescue aims to find forever homes for unwanted bunnies. We raise awareness and educate the public about the correct care of rabbits.

Hop Haven Bunny Rescue is home to around 50-80 bunnies that have been rescued from a number of different circumstances. We run primarily on the money that is brought in through our Open Day shops and with donations. We rescue, sterilise and give bunnies a safe and loving home until they find their forever homes. Our adoption procedure is fairly simple and we do whatever we can to find our bunnies

the best homes that they deserve. Each bunny has their own personality and individual preferences. We use this information to find a home that best suits each bunny. Sweetest little Dorothy 🤍

This adorable bundle of love is sooo hoping to find a forever home!

Dorothy was a little stray that was taken into Animal Welfare and we took her to find her a home 🩷 Dorothy waits by the fence for cuddles and loved to be held, kissed and snuggled! She is full of zoomies since coming to me and is loving having bunny friends!

Our new senior girl, Cupcake 🩷

This sweetheart was surrendered to us as her partner passed away and she was getting very lonely and needs other bunnies to spend her senior years with 🤍

Cupcake is 10 years old now and is a very sassy lady. She loves to run around outside but also spends a huge chunk of her day napping in her housie 🐰

Cupcake is looking for a friend or two to spend her senior years with as she is quite lonely after losing her partner of 10 years 🤍

She's been spayed when she was younger and is fairly healthy for an older bun 🌼

There will be no adoption fee for Cupcake if she gets adopted. I just want her to have a good time in her golden years and a loving family in time for the holidays ✨️

Our special boy, Milo 🩷

Milo was taken in at 2-3 months old with a terrible respiratory issue. He has since spent a while at the vets getting tests done and having some treatments done to help him breathe better.

Other than sounding like a little piggy, Milo is a healthy, sweet, spunky boy. He loves to be snuggled and played with. He's a very inquisitive boy and has to check out everything I'm doing. He enjoys digging and playing outside but also is learning to be neat and tidy inside.

About Milo:

🌼 Age: +- 5 months old
🌼 Health: good, just has a weak sense of smell
🌼 Personality: playful, active, loving
🌼 Ideal home: Milo would thrive in a home where he can be both inside and outside. He doesn't necessarily need a garden but somewhere for him to stretch his legs, dig, play and sleep in the sun would be ideal for him. Milo has grown quite fond of his buddies at the rescue and gets along well with both boy and girl bunnies so a partner would be great for him.
🌼 it's important that his new home will be okay with his noisy breathing. He is quite when napping and chilling but can get quite noisy when he's excited and playing

🐇 Personality: soft natured, quiet, sweet boy who loves to be snuggled and will melt into the ground when you pet him. He is social and loving and bonus - he is fully house trained too. He's the neatest boy 🥹
🐇 Ideal home: Luno would suit a quiet, loving indoor home. An outside area for playtime would be a bonus too but not a deal breaker for him. He prefers soft blankies and cozy nap spots than being outside.

Our sweet Koda is back up for adoption and looking for a loving family who will give him all the snuggles he wants 🩷

Bradford was adopted from us a while back as a friend for a single bunny but unfortunately their bond has broken and no bonding attempts have been successful to mend their relationship, meaning that Bradford is now looking for a new place to call home 🤍

He's a sweet, calm, independent bunny who is used to living indoors 🏡 Bradford likes to cuddle but is also happy to be left alone for a while while he has his daytime naps 💤

To celebrate Hop Haven's birthday month, we have set up an awesome raffle for all bunny lovers out there!

There's a great mix of bunny items and human items (perfect for Christmas gifts too!) 🎁

All proceeds from this raffle will go towards paying off vet bills and building up our steri fund.

For those who don't know, we arrange and pay for around 20-30 sterilisations a month. Most of these bunnies are not suitable for adoption and go to a safe, free roaming farm where they are taken care of. Because there are no adoption fees to cover the cost of their sterilization, we are building up a steri fund so that money is never the reason a bunny cannot be saved 🤍

To give you an idea of these costs, since the beginning of the year, we have paid over R60 000 to JUST ONE of our six vets that only does sterilizations for us at a significantly reduced welfare rate. Don't make me do the math to work out the total I've spent this year! 🙈🙈 We have changed the lives of well over 300 bunnies this year by sterilizing and helping them find safe spaces to live

I feel too bad to ask for donations without our donors without giving anything in return so our raffles is the one way I can show my gratitude to everyone who contributes towards our cause 🤍🐇🤍🐇

Meet Oakley ☀️

This sweetheart was rescued from roaming around a complex with no one looking after him. He was lucky enough to fall into bunny living hands who contacted us to help them get him neutered and rehomed.

Oakley is around 4 months old and is a small, sweet and friendly bunny! He gets along amazingly with other bunnies and made friends very quickly at the Haven.
