Two weeks ago the two mares Milé Khalida (owner Jeanne-Marie Marais) and Avatar (owner Botha) competed at the annual Fauriesmith Endurance ride. The ride is a 200km event, covered over 3 days in the Free State.
It was:
✅️both horses first Fauries
✅️both horses represented the Western Cape Endurance Ride Association teams
✅️ both horses completed in spectacular form and well placed in their respective categories.
The Easthill groom team was on their toes, but what a pleasure to be part of and support these two combos at the ride.

To their riders/owners - well prepared, well ridden and EXTREMELY well done to your horses

Sannie and Akim traded the endurance scene for "release the hounds" vibe at the Easthill Hunt this past weekend.
The horses, owners and spectators had a great time!

The old hands, Wakita and Laheeb, providing moral support to to the young Parfait on her first outride. They really did not have to do much as Parfait took everything in her stride, while the humans were chitchatting, giggling away and enjoying the beautiful winter's day.

Two weeks ago four of our endurance horses participated in the Al Wefa Oudtshoorn endurance ride.
Perdeberg Mulberry and Laheeb completed their 2nd FEI 1*.
Sanniesguns Portia and Jannat Rembrandt completed their 80km. Both of them haven't done a 80km since 2018. They outshined themselves.

The young and the old...
Wakita, our old girl have spent the last 2 months welcoming and looking after the new, very spirited 5 year old, Parfait, to the yard. Between Mia Steyn and her Equine-librium Therapy Clinic - Cape Town team they got a well deserved laser and beamer party today 🥳 🎉

Busy weekend for Easthill owners and horses...

Abba made his debut in showing. Little owner and rider, Carlien, set him up so great! They were fantastic!

Had an in-house workshop to give owners and their horses ideas, info and practice opportunity to improve their horse's posture. Was so fun to see everyone, including the horses, so focused.

Two of our endurance owners also prepping for the upcoming Darling ride.

Happy horses = happy owners 😄

Baby Pamira has been going out on rides with her mommy and owner, Anel van der Merwe, from an early age. Some self trimming and hoof conditioning happening, with all the different terrain she is exposed to...and while having a ball! She also allows, very patiently, for Dewald Forged Hoof Farriery to make sure she is doing a good job with her pedi's.
Feel so blessed that Easthill can provide the environment for little Pamira to grow up as naturally as possible, while getting the exposure of the human-made horse world.

As a yard you are faced with the possibility of losing one of our special four legged children and console and mourn with the heart broken mother. But yesterday the universe switched, we lost the mother, our horse -, iron-, spirited mother Rosalind Bean
This morning, as every morning, Avatar came walking to me. We stood together with the overwhelming presence of a void between us, but with the shared love for our horse mother. Ross and I have always spoke about how much our horsey family means to each other.
Ross, we are going to miss you, so incredibly much. I am so grateful that we had the privilege to spend the last years of your love with your horses with you, Avatar and Arunema. You will never be forgotten. Find Tariq and ride up a storm in heaven.

This is a big shout out to all the Easthillers! How amazing to see a whole yard support their fellow riders in such a way.
Last week we took 3 horses to SAIC in Oudtshoorn. Was a tough ride, but loads of fun THANK YOU to
🌼 the support crew that came with. Without you guys the trip would not have worked.
🌼 the grooms and cheer leaders at the ride
🌼 the cheer leaders at home and keeping the yard running like clock work
🌼 our service providers for their hard work and endless support in preparation of the horses
🌼 The riders and owners for always putting their horses first, no matter what. Only took their best interest to heart

Super proud of Amy Van Zyl and Perdeberg Mulberry on the completion of their first Fauresmith. Finished in 15th place in Junior category and recieved their Provincial colors . 326 Horses started the ride and only 43% finished.
