Puppy terug by haar ma, Zimba, wat verlede jaar gesteriliseer is. Puppy het 6 puppies, waarvan Eugene haar eienaar 4 wil hou, 2 gaan na sy oom toe. So Jan 2025 moet hulle ook gesteriliseer word.

Puppy gaan hierdie week vir haar sterilisasie. Ek kr glad nie vir Kleinboy in die hande kry nie. Sy foon is heeltyd af en sy kollegas ken blykbaar nie 'n Kleinboy nie.

28th of September is World Rabies Day!

Rabies is no joke and is completely avoidable if an animal has received their vaccinations.

While it's preventable and even treatable, it must be caught early on. Once the symptoms of rabies appear, the virus is fatal.

Paralysis eventually sets in and the rabid animal may be unable to eat and drink. It must be noted hydrophobia (fear of water) is not a sign of rabies in dogs. This is a feature of human rabies. The dog finally dies in a violent seizure.

Once the symptoms of rabies appear, the virus is fatal. Unfortunately, there is only one way to "test" for rabies in animals and that test requires the death of the animal so its brain can be tested.

Symptoms:
• Fever
• Seizures
• Paralysis
• A dropped jaw
• Unusual shyness or aggression
• Excessive salivation or frothy saliva and lack of coordination

Below is the technical explanation.

The technical term for this flap of skin and fat, which often feels like a half-full water balloon, is the “primordial pouch,” and you can also observe this feature on some big cats like lions and tigers. This bit of loose skin and padding at the belly provides extra protection and insulation to your cat during fights when a cat’s practice of “bunny kicking” with the rear paws could result in severe abdominal injury to their opponent. In fact, cats have excess skin covering the entire body which helps them squirm out of the grasp of other predators.

Another function of the abdominal flap is to allow the cat freedom of movement to fully stretch and extend the back legs when in full stride. It’s also theorized that in our cats’ wild ancestors, the flap allowed the stomach to stretch to hold extra food when necessary, such as when gorging after a large kill in the wild.

While this pouch is part of your cats anatomy, you still want to make sure your cat maintains a healthy weight.

Vandag huil ek saam met 'n mederescuer oor alles. Daarna kom ek in die informele nedersetting en Bonzo is daar en hy is bly om my te sien. Dan weet ek hoekom doen ek wat ek en ander doen. Dit is om te sien dat daar tog diere is met wie dit goed gaan en jy weet jy het 'n klein aandeel daaraan gehad. Bonzo is nou so 6 jaar oud♥️

As julle Sarah, ma van 10 puppies en hier op die foto met vier van hulle, kan onthou wat einde Mei doodgeskiet is en die vier puppies hier wat net na haar dood vergiftiig is. Daarna het ek 1 puppy gevat om te pts omdat sy parvo gehad het. Intussen is nog 3 puppies dood soos aan my vertel blykbaar ook parvo en 2 nadat hulle bene geëet het. So daar is nog 2 iewers in die informele nedersetting. Ek het die eienaar Kleinboy se telnr maar die foon is nooit aan nie en ek weet nie waar hy bly nie. Die puppies by hom is nou groot genoeg om te steriliseer. Uiteindelik het ek uitgevind waar hy werk en dat hy Vrydag weer werk. Ek wil die 2 wat hy het vlg week steriliseer saam met Puppy wat se babas nou groot is.

Our team was in the field yesterday attending to cases. It's faces like these who have been given away for free as they aren't wanted anymore😭

Do you KNOW how heartbreaking it is....constantly seeing abuse?
Do you KNOW how hard it is to see neglected and sick animals?
Do you KNOW that we repeat ourselves when educating and we try out BEST to make those animals comfortable?

This is what free to a good home can do.

The worst of it is....when animals are given away without homechecks, without follow ups....AND THEY ARENT STERILIZED.

Deadly combination.

They have pups and the pups usually don't make it as they become sick. The ones who DO make it just carry on having puppies and it's a never ending story for us rescuers.........the hurt, the sadness just doesn't stop.

WE CANT RESCUE THEM ALL😭

Because of YOU Sir Or Madam, you have given dogs like these a death sentence.

Female cats can become pregnant as early as four months old, and dogs from 6 months. However these early pregnancies can bring on serious health complications for your pet. Understanding the heat cycles of dogs and cats, is imperative to avoid unwanted litters.

Cats can be spayed from 4 months old and dogs from 6 months depending on the breed.

Please sterilise your pets, before they fall pregnant resulting in unwanted litters and adding to the overpopulations crisie.

Die twee katte het 'n groot hoeveelheid kos gekry asook 'n blikkie sagte vleis. Die wit en grys mannetjie was altyd baie wild. Vandag kon ek hom vir 'n sekonde optel en daarna sy kop en rug krap terwyl hy eet. Die wit wyfie is mak. Altwee is gesteriliseer.
