Cassie and Meisie had an awesome play date with Melinda and Elandre💓! They may seem an unlikely pair but these two ladies get on like a house on fire and just LOVE attention.

Both are sterilized, Meisie is about 3 years old and Cassie about 8 months old. It would be wonderful if they could be homed together but not essential as both have been waiting awhile to find their forever families🐾.

They are waiting to meet you this adoption weekend, please make their dreams come true by coming to see how awesome they are😍!

To adopt both of these babies together the cost is only R800. This includes vaccination and both girls are already sterilized.

We realised Pinky was looking a little down, as despite his best efforts no one gave him a second glance😢. So when Tiny's siblings started being mean to her😟we decided to introduce them to each other, they absolutely hit it off🤗and are loving each other's company.

Pinky is about a year old and Tiny about 5 months old. There absolutely must be a family out there who these two can smother with love! It is adoption weekend, please come and meet these gorgeous pups🐾

As a loyal supporter for many years, BRIAN HALL did what he always does- celebrated his 90th Birthday, and donated ALL his "gifts" to us💓! While Happy birthday wishes from all at the SPCA might be belated Brian, we hope you had a pawsome celebration on your very special day🎂. Huge thanks to CALEDON PREPARATORY for choosing us as the beneficiary of their Colouring In Competition , blessing us with a fabulous donation of R2530🤗🤗! We spent an awesome hour with the learners and staff on Friday morning and were so impressed with the interaction and interest shown by the learners, and the warmth and friendliness we were received with💓🐾. On receiving a late afternoon call about a donkey in distress, our Manager Marion and trainee Inspector Juan-Marie sprang into action.

On their arrival at the scene, they were appalled at the condition of the donkey, and despite facing an aggressive and uncooperative owner were determined not to leave without the donkey.

Their efforts were finally rewarded, with the owner unhitching the injured donkey and surrendering it to us before making a speedy getaway.

The team were then faced with the dilemma of getting the semi lame animal to the SPCA from Fairbridge Heights as we do not have a stock trailer and the donkey was in no state to be walked😢.

We are incredibly grateful to Carla,💓 from the East Cape Horse Unit who responded to our emergency call and without hesitation dispatched a trailer to assist and took the donkey into safekeeping.

Our grateful thanks also go to the amazing Atlas Security guys who alerted us to the situation👏🏻.

We are immensely proud of these two ladies who were resolute and stood firm in the face of adversity in the name of animal welfare. Well done ladies👏🏻🐾!

We were so privileged not only to be part of an incredibly memorable occasion, but to be the recipients of a FABULOUS MEET & GREET AREA 💓for which we are so grateful!

It is not every day that we get to host a 61st Birthday party and it was certainly an amazing experience.
HUGE HUGE THANKS to absolutely everyone at DESPATCH PREPARATORY and of course to the awesome "birthday girl"🎂🥰for the best gift ever.

Your generosity, thoughtfulness and continued support is appreciated beyond measure, and will be hugely instrumental in providing many more happy homings for our furries 🐾.

We would also like to share a note from Asja, the Deputy Principal: "On a momentous occasion for our school, we as staff, along with the learners support,were able to unveil our Principals birthday gift to her today.

A year ago for her 60th birthday we promised to build a bonding area at the SPCA for families interested in adopting a dog.

Today the dream was realized and we could honour her with this special gift.

Aptly named after her beloved "Stompie" who recently passed away. This afternoon "Stompies kuierhoekie" was officially handed over to the SPCA.

We hope and believe this initiative will bring more fur babies to their forever home.

⭐ Meet Mercury ⭐

Mercury heard that Axel has an application pending and he also wanted to come introduce himself 😉.

Mercury is a stunning, super friendly kit cat. His heart breaks when visitors pass his kennel and say "he's gorgeous but too old to adopt" 😭. He doesn't understand what his age has to do with him deserving a second chance at a happy life...

He doesn't like being alone 😔 because he absolutely LOVES rubs and scratches and kisses 😍. Being brushed is also one of his favourite things 🤩.

Mercury is only 3 years old and already neutered which makes his adoption fee only R200 🙌.

When Tracey Paton, the Secretary from SYDENHAM PRIMARY SCHOOL called to arrange a time to drop off a donation for us, we were so grateful. But even more impressive were the young leaders👏🏻 who arrived on the day, along with Tracey and their Principal, Litha Nkayi.To these four amazing learners, you are all wonderful ambassadors for your school and animal welfare, for which we are so grateful. Having our youth actively campaigning and being involved in creating an awareness of animal welfare is the biggest reward for us. We were particularly touched by the word of thanks delivered by Headboy, Eljeigh Blauw, which clearly reflected a love and compassion for animals. In addition his gratitude and mature understanding of the challenges faced and services rendered by the SPCA was so greatly appreciated.💓
Special thanks go to Mr Nkayi and his staff for their encouragement and support in generating compassion for animals amongst our youth🐱🐾🐶.
