A few pics taken yestetday. Feeling so grateful to have ao many customers who support me and love my cattery. I enjoy seeing peoples faces when they see my setup and see the size of the runs and all the cats running / lazing around all happy.

In this issue of Local Life, read the second part of our FCJ (mis)adventure which continued to provide us with fits of laughter (more the kind that borders on disbelief and floods of tears).

It made for an incomparable experience but we definitely don’t have any travelling plans on the horizon!

As we step into September, we will once more be enjoying the Hermanus First Fridays Artwalk – a lovely evening spent visiting participating galleries, admiring artworks, and meeting artists. We hope to see you there.

New expanded cattery 95% complete. Final touches being done. Looks sooo fresh and spacious even if i say so myself. Ill post pics of all the runs and also update my info with run no and size. The communal area is massive with large communal bed so they can have the best views. Pics i took yesterday but today we did much more. Watch this space.

Bowies 11.30 nap. Funny All the cats nap at this time. Bowie was just lying so luxuriously.

We have expanded. Love it that my cattery is so popular :) I now offer more single runs, more smaller sharing runs and then of course the usual large sharing runs. The "play area" has also expanded. We busy with the finishing touches and I shall post photos soon.

NEW CATTERY LAYOUT AS OF DECEMBER 2023. More single runs, more options to have a large or a smaller run.
I have become so busy, that the extension is needed :)

We immigrated to the Netherlands on 16 March and due to the 90 day waiting period we weren’t able to bring our two cats with us. We have two indoor cats who never new anything or anyone except for us and we knew that this journey would be tough on them! After what feels like a lifetime, our family is whole again!! But this wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible people who helped us. Phillippa at Honingklip Cattery not only kept them safe but gave them so much love ,food (they arrived fatter in NL!) and when our boy got sick she took him to the vet and nursed him back to health. She went out of her way to give our cats the best temp home ever! Duncan from Pets Travel arranged everything for our cats to fly over with KLM and kept us updated every step of the way! He made sure that they will have an excellent and stress free flight. Chantel from Flying Dutch Pets did everything on this side for us to make sure that legally everything is sorted. These 3 people are the reason our family is whole again and I can not that them enough! All 3 of them communicated with me and each other to ensure everything goes smoothly…and it did! Our cats are very happy and didn’t arrive skittish or anything at their new home. They started exploring immediately and I can tell that it will be a very busy evening!

Honingklip The Cattery is OPEN & OPERATIONAL. Thank goodness, this time the cattery remained warm and dry. Business as usual :) Cats have heated blankets on, heated lamps are on and the curtains closed to retain the heat. .

Madam Zarah aka Zsa zsa and Zarries left to go to Mauritius. While im happy for her to go to her new home with her mom... it was also very sad. I get so attached to these cats and she was here for 3.5 mnths and i felt awful having to put her into her travel box and see the look on her face. She was so confused. BUT when she sees her mom she will be happy. Travel well Zsa zsa we miss you.

A few days a ago. Its getting chilly now. So we have changed to thicker blankets, put heated lamps in and close the curtains to keep the heat in. So now we have cosy cats.
