Collado's Christie
Derby 2024
Micro Derby 4th.💪What a super round for Barry & Christie ,So proud of them both.
Such a long difficult track in addition it was against the clock. Time added for a fence down. So many people to thank for their support. Michael who has always been my support with the horses. Barry who has been amazing as a friend and rider.Christie, who has given us years of kindness & jumped her socks off. Lorette & Farmham family. Our super special Lavender Hill Family. Justin Vos who has kept Christie so fit and well prepared.
Our grooms who keep everything running smoothly whilst we are at shows. Ed Evens our awesome vet who always takes such an Interest in how our horses perform as do Dion, our brilliant farrier
Then there is Isaac Zungu- Christie's groom. Isaac showed her in hand prior to Christie being backed and now 15 years later he is still by her side making sure she is always comfortable and treated her as his child, as he says.
It sure takes a team in this sport.
Our grooms are not just people doing a job. They are super special people who are totally passionate about their horses. They have to have good knowledge of how to care properly for them, to have the knowledge to know when a horse is sick or just a bit off in its behavior. They sit up all through the nights when need be keeping them safe.
It is now time for my horses to enjoy their retirement which they have so richly deserved
