SPCA Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark We serve, protect and care for all animals. The Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA is a member of the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA).

The Vanderbijlpark and Vereeniging SPCAs have amalgamated in July 2015 and are fully operational under a single Management Committee. This positive step was taken at Special General Meetings. The Board of the National Council of SPCAs has expressed support for the venture. The decision was taken to maximise the use of resources and opportunities. It will be beneficial to both the SPCAs who previou

sly operated independently: - but above all it is and will be highly advantageous to the animals in the area. The message to the public is that unity is strength and the future will be a positive one in terms of assisting animals. The Society is now called the Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA.

Handsome Blade has found his forever home with the Pretorius family! 🏡❤️

Our brave boy had to have his fur shaved due to severe neglect and matting. 💔 Despite their best efforts, the incredible team at Nicolette’s Dog Parlour had to make the tough decision to remove his coat because it simply couldn’t be saved. 🙏 We are so grateful to them for always going the extra mile for our animals!

Now, Blade’s fresh start comes with a loving family who will cherish him forever. 🐶✨ Thank you to the Pretorius family for opening your hearts and home to this special boy!

🐾 WINTER BLANKET DRIVE 2025 🐾

Winter is around the corner, and our animals desperately need blankets to keep warm! ❄️🧡

Our Society is incredibly grateful for every blanket donation we receive, and we make sure to use each one to provide warmth and comfort to the animals in our care.

If you’re considering purchasing blankets, we kindly ask you to choose Stormy blankets from PEP Stores instead of budget blankets. Here’s why:

🔹 Budget Blanket:

- More affordable but single-use only
- Cannot be washed
- Tears easily, creating a choking hazard
- Poor quality, doesn’t last

🔸 Stormy Blanket:

- Slightly more expensive but washable & reusable
- Durable – doesn’t break apart
- Better quality, providing lasting warmth

While budget blankets may seem like a better deal because you can buy more, they tear easily and cannot be washed, making them unsafe for animals. If a dog chews and swallows pieces, it can cause dangerous stomach obstructions, leading to unnecessary veterinary expenses - something we simply cannot afford.

🙏 We will gratefully accept any blanket donations, but we wanted to share this information to help ensure the safety and well-being of our animals.

This time, they came to our aid by donating a Petrol Brush Cutter - a gift that makes a huge difference at the Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA.

Not only will our premises now be kept neat, but most importantly, our animals will be protected. Keeping the grass short is crucial in preventing flea and tick infestations, which can severely impact their well-being. Fleas cause anemia and worms, while ticks can lead to biliary - both of which result in unnecessary medical expenses we simply cannot afford.

As a non-profit organization with very limited funds, we rely on the generosity of incredible businesses like Three Rivers Mica that step up to support animal welfare. Their donation has saved us valuable resources, allowing us to redirect funds where they matter most - caring for our animals.
