Ek deel 'n bietjie van myself en my besigheid. Wie is ek, waarvandaan ek kom, en waarnatoe ek op pad is..
Building a business is not an easy job. It takes time, and effort and training and you need to keep yourself in the loop of new ideas and developments all the time. But the foundation of that business needs to be sound and deep. At the foundation lays things like knowledge, integrity, honesty, character and truth. If you lack those, no business will succeed.
I have put in a lot of time in building my business. At no time do I want to mislead clients with what I offer and what I sell.
So when I present myself to you as a trainer and instructor I want you to know who I am, and who and what I am not.
I am a horse lover who, at all times, want to put the welfare of the horse above my desire to compete and to win. (And I am a very competive person)
I am a trainer who strive to train horses in a humane way so that the horse is as safe as possible in all kinds of environments. I want the horses I trained to be able to handle the human world well, because they are introduced to it kindly and fairly.
I am an instructor who will do everything in my power to help my clients understand the world of the horse and how to communicate safely with them, have a trust relationship with them and avoid unnecessary accidents at all cost.
I chose the Western way of riding as a discipline because I admire the way the cowboys look after their horse partners and strive to be as soft as possible with them. I want to make the most of my relationship with my horse in developing it to his true potential in whatever discipline this horse will excel.
At this stage in my life I am very much still a novice rider training a novice horse to go up the ranks. I will progress to a higher level when my horse are ready to do so, but I am not forcing anything and I will not do so in future.
I am not a world renown instructor or trainer, and I do not strive to be one. Having said that, I will do everything in my power to grow with and faster than my clients and if at any time I feel that I am not qualified to train them further will recommend someone that can do so.
I will always strive to share my knowledge with whoever wants it. I believe that there is a vast amount of learning we as South Africans can do and that we can help each other grow in the Western disciplines. We are nowhere near perfect, but together we can get there.
I am doing all this because I love horses, I love riding and I love to see people developing their relationship with their horses and finding freedom in the process. I am not in this for the money, although money is needed to make all this happen. So whatever your need, talk to me and we can make a way to make it happen.
Over the next few weeks I will share some of my stories, and the stories of some of my clients and the horses I had. I hope it will give you a better understanding of who I am and where I am going.
