While we are warm inside our homes, sheltered from the stormy weather we have been having the last couple of days, there are a few unlucky ones that have no place of shelter from the wind and rain.

We wish that we could help each one, but we try to help the ones that cross our path.
For Dot from LEAPS , the situation is much more sad than most of us see in our lifetime. She faces the heartache daily, and with very little to no resources, the most she can offer some days, is a biscuit or 3, to fill an empty hole in their stomachs.

We know that we can always count on our loyal followers on this page and that is why we thought to come to you today, begging again, to help her, help a few of them in the stormy days ahead.

Sometimes just a tummy filled with food, is enough to carry them through the cold nights.

We are asking for any help with the following items that they desperately need :

Dog/Cat food, pellets or tins
Blankets, lots of old blankets
Dog kennels
Tick /Flea products

Then most of all, monetary donations to help them cover the thousands of vetbills they have outstanding, to be able to help more animals in need. They would like to sterilise more animals and with a lot of owners who can hardly feed the animals, money for sterilisation is last on the list. They also have a lot of animals with Erlichia this time of the year, which is a tick borne disease, that sometimes need a lengthy hospital stay with lots of expensive medication.

If you have any of the above mentioned items that you can donate, please drop them off at our practice at 21 School Street, Vredenburg. Banking details will follow, for those that want to make a financial contribution. Any people who live outside of the area and would like to donate, Takealot also deliverers at our practice 😉
