A customer asked about her dog, who had just lost his best friend. This is my answer:

Often the topic of “synthetic vs natural” comes up, and there is always space for this conversation!

However, an interesting thing to note is that modern medicine as we know it today wouldn’t even exist without our ancestors use of plants and other natural remedies.

Time for a little “reintroduction”!

The Herbal Pet and The Herbal Horse were started by our wonderful founder Beryl!

She completed her honours in a biochemistry degree, after obtaining her BSc in Biochemistry and Zoology. After that she joined the big world of pharmaceuticals.

However, thanks to a slightly… energetic horse, Brat, she realised that there was a gap (in the now ever growing) market for well thought out plant based and natural products that were not only effective but safe!

We could wax lyrical about bioavailability and the metabolism of such products, but instead we will say that just because the ingredient may have wonderful scientific basis, does not mean it works in the form it is in!
