🍷 ‘n Hartlike Dankie – WP Saalperd Subunie Wynfondsinsameling

Dis nie elke dag wat ‘n mens iemand soos Bennie Booysen teëkom nie – die meester-wynmaker met ‘n hart van goud. Bennie het 100 kiste van sy 2023 Shiraz, The Workout, aan die WP Saalperd Subunie geskenk om fondse in te samel vir ons provinsiale saalperde – ‘n gebaar wat veel meer beteken as net wyn, dit is ‘n toonbeeld van passie en liefde vir die sport.

Met net ‘n handjievol mense wat ingespring het om hierdie wyn te help verkoop, het ons meer as R100 000 ingesamel – alles ten bate van die perde waarvoor ons almal só lief is. Ek het vanaand my eerste bottel oopgemaak… en toe sommer dadelik die tweede ook. 😄 Hierdie is regtig ‘n heerlike, maklik drinkbare Shiraz. Almal wat al geproe het, stem saam – dis besonders!

‘n Groot dankie aan Bennie Booysen, aan elkeen wat ‘n boks gekoop het, en aan die manne en vroue wat gehelp het verkoop. Julle het gewys wat dit beteken om vir iets groter as jouself te werk – vir ‘n sport, ‘n subunie, en vir perde wat ons harte steel.

Before the spotlights, before the ribbons, and before the applause — there is someone quietly making it all possible. The groom.

In the early hours, while most of us are still wrapped in dreams, he’s already up making sure your horse is fed.

Throughout the day, he’s watching. Noticing a limp before it becomes an injury. Picking up on mood changes. Knowing when a horse is ready to push and when it needs rest. His hands are weathered, but kind. His voice is low, calm — a grounding presence for horses trained to be full of fire and flair.
And when the ribbons are handed out, you’ll often see him in the background, smiling quietly, already thinking about the next horse, the next feed, the next task.

To the grooms: we see you. We thank you. You are the heartbeat of the Saddlebred world🎖🏆🥇

Shining bright like the star she is – Lizandi!

A massive congratulations to our incredibly talented 14-year-old rider, Lizandi, on her outstanding achievements at the Bloemfontein Show! We are beyond proud of her and all that she represents.

Lizandi is not only a phenomenal rider at Charl Oosthuysen Stables, but also a true all-rounder. She excels in academics, dominates on the netball court, and shines on the athletics field. Her dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship are what set her apart – she gives her best in everything she does, whether she takes the win or not.

What makes Lizandi truly special is her kind heart, humble nature, and the way she uplifts and supports her fellow riders. Always respectful, always giving her best, and always pushing forward – she is a true role model in and out of the ring.

At Charl Oosthuysen Stables, we see this magic happen every day. A little girl walks into the stables with doubt, but she walks out taller, stronger, braver. Horses don’t just teach them how to ride—they teach them courage, confidence, and self-worth. They show them that strength isn’t just about muscles, but about heart.
