African Alpacas at Inca Vale Farm

A site dealing with Alpacas that are bred in South Africa.

At the end of 2000 a small herd of Alpacas were imported from Chile into South Africa where they are bred for their wool as well as to encourage Alpaca breeders in South Africa.

Two and a half hours old and ready for the world. Sunday morning baby born at 8 am. Mom is right behind him watching. Notice the deflated stomach versus the one behind mom, who is due soon.

Brianna delivered a lovely baby girl this morning. On her legs and inquisitive about the new world. Here she is with the other moms and babies and youngsters. All have been shorn for the summer months. Only girl babies so far which we are so happy about 🦙🔆🦙🔆

Alpacas getting their fleece shorn for the coming summer season. They get done by colour group for classing and bagging purposes, hence the darker ones not being shorn yet.
