*Goose meat is delectable*
Most breeds of domestic geese originally were developed primarily as meat birds. The meat of a properly cooked goose is rich and juicy despite its undeserved reputation of being greasy. Geese most commonly raised for meat are the heavier breeds like Embden and Toulouse.

*Goose fat is delicious*
Goose fat accumulates on the bird’s abdomen, at the base of the neck, and under the breast skin. The abdominal and neck fat firms after a goose is plucked and chilled. It may easily be peeled away and melted down, or rendered, as a shortening substitute for baking. The fat under the skin melts off during roasting and may be spooned out and saved for pan frying.

Cockatiels Can Learn Tricks
Cockatiels are natural-born entertainers and love putting on a show for their owners. With patience and positive reinforcement training, you can teach your cockatiel all sorts of tricks and stunts.

Roll over!
Teaching your cockatiel to roll over is a fun trick, even if it serves no real purpose. Start by having your cockatiel do a simple spin while giving the command, "Roll over!" Reward with a treat and praise. Once your cockatiel has mastered the spin, hold the treat slightly to the side so they have to tilt to reach it.

Over multiple training sessions, hold the treat progressively lower and off to the side until your cockatiel has to roll onto its back to get it. Voila—you now have a cockatiel that can roll over on command!

Jump through a hoop!
If you want to impress your friends, teach your cockatiel to jump through a hoop. Start with the hoop resting on the ground, giving the "jump!" command and pointing at the hoop. When your cockatiel hops through, shower them with treats and praise. Slowly lift the hoop a little higher off the ground in each session.

It can take weeks of regular practice for a cockatiel to master jumping through a hoop at full height while flying, so patience and persistence pay off.

Some similarities include:

*Noise levels.* Although they do make plenty of noise, both are in the quieter range when it comes to pet parrots. In most cases, they should be suitable for flat living.
*Colour varieties.* Both budgies and cockatiels have been selectively bred to produce a wide range of colour varieties.
*Intelligence.* The two species are both intelligent, can be hand-tamed, and are capable of learning surprisingly intricate tricks.
*Social needs.* Like most parrots, these are extremely social beings that require plenty of attention to thrive. They can develop a deep bond with their owner.
*Talking abilities.* Both (especially the males) can learn to imitate words and whistles, although talking budgies tend to have a larger vocabulary than talking cockatiels.
