The Friend Animal Foundation is the only private, no kill animal shelter for unwanted, abused and abandoned companion animals in Zimbabwe. We provide care, shelter, rehabilitation and re-homing where possible, charging an adoption fee which covers the veterinary costs of vaccination and sterilization, which is mandatory for all our animals. The Foundation also offers single and family group boardi

ng facilities for dogs and cats at reasonable costs. The Friend Animal Foundation is a welfare organization and we survive only with the assistance and generosity of local and international donors. In early August, we had the absolute privilege of welcoming Dogs4Wildlife back – this time with a Canine First Aid Nurse! 💛 The event at Wagzone was such a success – filled with energy, inspiration, and of course, wagging tails. 🐶

Dogs 4 Wildlife have just returned from Harare, Zimbabwe, where we spent time with the incredible team at THE FRIEND ANIMAL FOUNDATION

Currently, more than 474 abandoned dogs and puppies are being cared for at the foundation - each one rescued from heartbreaking neglect and now clinging to a chance for a better life.

In partnership with the Friend Animal Foundation, we’re working to turn their stories around. Sharing our passion with like minded people and supporting the development of handling and training techniques, with a view to the following vital purpose;

Our mission: to transform some of these rescued dogs into highly trained conservation dogs that can be utilised to protect threatened species throughout Zimbabwe.

Following our initial assessments, and the selection of a number of fantastic dogs we plan to return to Harare in the near future to continue this vital project and begin the next phase of training.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated leads and collars-your generosity is already making a profound impact on these dogs’ lives.

Your continued support means the world to everyone at the foundation and to us.

This is the beginning of what will be an incredible partnership, helping to change so many animals lives.
