The organisation actively undertakes awareness programmes on cat welfare, advising people on how to keep cats and care for them properly, explaining the different breeds and giving advice about which cat best fits to people’s lifestyle. It stages educational programmes for Schools, Government and Breeders plus seminars about cat genetics and a

dvises people about how they can become a registered WCF All Breed (AB) judge. MECATS established the Arabian Mau Centre to introduce the new accepted Arabian Mau breed, helps to home cats and provides education for individuals and cat rescue groups in the form of first aid courses and the basic veterinary help that cats may need when they’re found injured or sick. Mecats also works as a rescuer for all cats that are found ill or abandoned. Mecats has a No Kill policy which states that an animal will not be put down when under the authority of Mecats unless the animals is in insufferable pain and cannot of relieved of the condition in any way. It also organises the annual International Cat Show every November - staged since 2005, it’s a forum to show the beauty of cats and is the perfect opportunity for groups and individuals who love cats to meet.
