** UPDATE** Harley has amazingly been found, thank you to everyone who helped search for him. We have been in touch with his Dad today and Harley is spending some time at the vets to ensure he is none the worse for his misadventures.

Thank you to everyone who left messages of support over this past week, we appreciate you more than you know.

To the select few who deemed it necessary to leave negative and hateful comments, there is nothing you could have said to make us feel worse than we already do.

Hi everyone, this is a message to our people, our customers, potential customers and our peers in the industry.

On Wednesday 31st July a tragic accident occurred at our salon. Despite the numerous safety measures in place a dog sadly escaped the premises. We are deeply saddened and would like to express our heartfelt apologies to the owners.
Despite Brett being out with the owners searching there have been no further sightings

We are currently installing additional safety measures and are reviewing all safety procedures to ensure this does not happen again.

To our dear clients, this incident is the precise reason we may seem sometimes over the top or abrupt in making sure you do not open our gates, do not unleash your pets in the waiting area and avoid entering when others are already inside. If you have any concerns regarding this issue or any other safety concerns please don’t hesitate to call us.

To our fellow groomers, please take this incident to heart, do not think this is something that can never happen to you. This dog opened 2 gates and a solid wooden door in the blink of an eye. Please, whatever measures you have in place, consider adding more.

"Harley"
Male, Tri coloured Beagle. Missing from Purple Pooch groomers in Highgate, spotted on Mellington Street approx 3:15pm and then heading towards Grant Ave about 20 minutes later. No sightings since. He is wearing a collar and harness, my name and number is on it. He will be terrified but he loves schmakos. Don’t try and grab for him he will run, just sent where he is and owners will come. Reward is being offered.

Due to a severe lack of staff, for the foreseeable future, Purple Pooch Dog Grooming will be closed on alternate Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will be in touch with all clients affected as soon as possible. This also means that your pooch will likely be with us longer than usual for their appointments (rest assured, they will have a blast spending extra time with their friends) We thank you all for your understanding in this and we apologise for any inconvenience. We hope to return to our regular scheduling as soon as possible.

**A brief housekeeping post**

Please be reminded that not attending your scheduled appointment will result in a no show fee of 50% being applied to your account. Arriving more than 30 minutes late without prior communication (preferably via text message) will also be marked as a no show and the 50% fee will be applied. Cancellation of appointments with less than 24 hours notice will result in a late cancellation be of 25% being applied to your account. Fees need to be settled prior to any new appointments being scheduled. We regret the need to make posts like these however no shows and late cancellations cost small businesses such as ours thousands of dollars in lost income each year.
If you no longer need your scheduled appointment we ask only that you contact us to cancel. If you are running late on the day please let us know prior to your scheduled time that you are still coming so we can plan accordingly.
Finally, we do not send reminder messages and will not chase you up if you are late to your scheduled appointment. We strongly suggest adding your appointment to your calendar and setting a reminder notification if needed.
Once again, we truly regret the need to post reminders such as this however this is our careers, our livelihood and our means to support our families. We thank you for your understanding and continued support.
