Flynn & Janet had a very successful weekend at the Masters Games recently. Pushed themselves by attempting a higher level in the dressage & jumping with great results. Even tho' Flynn is jumping twice the height of last year he is still clearing them by miles. Fabulous photos by Goldshaft Equine & Photography. Congratulations Janet !

Play day at Antola Lodge. Huge fun with the 2 youngsters trying the obstacles under saddle for the first time. Even the wobbly ones did not faze them. So proud of their efforts. Huge thanks to Rachel for riding Manny & Michelle for the great photos & videos & Antola for the access. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a bit of fun & a try at different activities

Easter play. Had fun with the 2 youngsters over the weekend playing with "spooky stuff " but neither battered an eyelid. The last of my cobs Manny ( Kerulen Wembley ) having his 2nd ride after a 2yrs break. We then followed up with a forest ride today. Thanks Rachel for being my 2nd jockey so they could go out together

Registered with the Sth Aust Buckskin Ass & Welsh Pony & Cob Soc. Biscuit was started under saddle 2 yrs ago then turned out to grow up. Now has just been started again & going nicely. Very calm & sensible but forward going. Is easy to handle & absolutely loves people & attention. Looking for an understanding person. Not for a beginner but would suit capable & experienced child rider or small adult. PM for more details

Another show season finished for a while. Kerulen Spycraft finished well last weekend at the last show winning Champion Ridden again but this time with a new jockey. Watch out Janet you may not get him back !
Kerulen Tivoli did not attend the last couple of shows but finished her season on a high winning Overall Supreme Exhibit. Now for some other activities namely dressage & eventing - for Flynn at least

Tivvy gets flowers ! SABA champ show today - drizzly rain & cold but I would rather that than 40 degrees! Kerulen Tivoli won her first garland - Kerulen Spycraft got so many wins that I lost count but the best of the day was watching the next generation of riders getting started. A HUGE thank you to the hard working committee and helpers - they may be small but they are determined to make these shows as good as they possibly can for the competitors. And yes that is Flynn under the sheet - as Olaf from Frozen

SABA Hi Point awards were given out yesterday & once again Kerulen Spycraft did exceptionally well. Was thrilled with the achievement of his 1/2 sister Kerulen Tivoli in her 1st season of showing as well. A HUGE thank you to Janet Davie who kindly showed her for me & for all her hard work that has made Spycraft the pony he is today. Thank you also the the hard working SABA committee& the sponsors of the fabulous rosettes & trophies

POSTCARD FROM WA.
I love it when owners of ponies I have bred contact me with updates especially those ponies I have lost track of. Welsh Sec A mare Kerulen Sequana ( Loch Sloy Monarch x Hazelmere Shanika ) was sold to WA as a 2 1/2 yr old. Initially her owner kept in contact but I had not heard anything for over 12 yrs. Now at the age of 22 she resides with Kelly of Carrracane Lodge Pony Stud & is still competing in leading rein classes. Thank you Jon for contacting me. It is very much appreciated

How good is this ! 7yr old Claire Fuhrmann & Kerulen Tansy competing at the Qld PC State Dressage Champs. The youngest rider competed in the u.11's & had to cope with horrendous weather as well. What a fantastic experience. photo credit Shotz

Lovely morning for a show at Strathalbyn yesterday and all over before it got too hot. 1/2 siblings Kerulen Spycraft & Kerulen Tivoli out doing their thing. A huge thank you to Michelle who ran Tivoli out. Michelle loves coming to see her stallion Crestwood I Spy's progeny out & about

Fabulous Flynn. Kerulen Spycraft had a great 2022 becoming SABA Buckskin of the Year & won a Bronze Medal for Dressage in the Welsh Pony & Cob Soc National competition. He topped off with a swag of ribbons at the SABA Championships. His little rider for some of the classes Scarlet Herbert had great fun esp.as a butterfly in a flower garden as her fancy dress.
I look forward to seeing what Flynn does in 2023. Congratulations to all of his support crew equine & photography

SABA championships finally !! after 3 cancellations due to foul weather. Kerulen Tivoli at her 2nd show behaved herself beautifully & I had a great ride behind the scenes. Huge thank you to Janet Davie who ran her out & Rachel my "groom"🤣🤣

Boyd Exell, you legend !! 6th consecutive FEI World Championship 4 in hand title. A long way from Bega Pony Club ! It is a pity that this talented & so successful athlete is relatively unknown in his home country but I am so pleased he still competes under the Australian flag !

Lots of fun at the Open Performance Day on Sunday run by the SA Welsh RPG at Strathalbyn. Also a day of firsts for all 3 Kerulen ponies that attended. Janet Davie's Spycraft capably ridden by Molly Quast and Wynetta & her owner Lilly Hoffman attempted their first Working Hunter class & Tivoli her first ever show & dressage test. Kerulen Spycraft cruising around the dressage last weekend 💛🖤💛

It’s such a pleasure to ride a young pony that has been set up for success in his competition endeavours by his owner, at not even 6 years of age, Flynn is happy and confident to go to new places and take on new tasks.. this is no fluke and comes from careful and thoughtful management throughout his upbringing. 🥰

I see so many people in a rush to compete, go to pony club, adult riders what ever it may be which generally ends up in very stressful experiences for both horse and owner… there is NO hurry!

I’ve definitely learnt the hard way over the years that there is absolutely no benefit for horse or human to rush out to these things..

Take your time, take lots of small steps and get help if you need it to expose youngsters in the right way to new experiences and it really will set them up for life 🦄

Long weekend Pony playdates. Took my baby Kerulen Tivoli to Janet's for a change of scenery & watched her 1/2 brother Kerulen Spycraft practice his "look Ma no hands ( bridle )" with supervisor Daisy directing proceedings. Kerulen Wynetta had some cross country practice at pony club & Kerulen Spydaweb had her very 1st canter at Pottery Rd Performance Ponies indoor arena. A very successful & enjoyable weekend ( & the weather was kind )😆

I love to keep track of ponies that I have bred over the years but sometimes they just disappear so I was thrilled to get a message from the owners of Kerulen Masuda ( Matty ) ( Owendale Mandarin x Kerulen Mariah ) now living in Victoria & at the age of 22 teaching his young 7yr old rider Sophia Healey the ropes. I hadn't heard anything about him since 2006 and am so pleased that he has such a fabulous home in his "twilight " years
