On Friday we took the kids to Aldridge Interschool Equestrian Challenge. We had 4 kids from the school competing. Shenay, Wyatt, Alexis and Sarah.
All 4 kids had an amazing day, made new friends and learnt some new skills with their horses. They all brought home a good handful of ribbons each also! Great job kiddos ❤️

Wyatt rode off lead all day! Only his second time off lead.
Alexis got the judges award in cowboy racing for her horsemanship.
Sarah and Shenay stole the show however when they both won Grade Champion. Each winning their first buckle.

All kids are looking forward to next year ❤️

We have been lucky enough to have been offered this handsome fella to join our team. Felix is a blue and tan kelpie who has just started his working life just now with us as an older pup. Showing plenty of eye and a keenness to please. He has made a great addition to John’s team of dogs.

Great weekend Ranch sorting. Came home with a handful of ribbons each. Kids had a ball. Horses worked great and lots of fun was had. Until next time ❤️

Mulgildie Campdraft over the weekend was one way to spend the long weekend. Lots of fun was had by all. Not a lot of scores from us. But horses worked a treat and kids had a ball in the games.

The other weekend we got to go Ranch Sorting. A lot of fun was had by everyone but especially the kids. Thanks so much Hivesville and District Rec for the great event. The Cockerill family for the cattle and for letting us borrow Anna for Wyatt. What an amazing pony she is.

Our young mare Fortyniners got Style (reg pending) and John at her 3rd draft at Bell recently. Didn’t make a full course but we are very happy with how this young mare is going.

Our littlest Drafter. Shenay. Had her first draft at Burrandowan on the weekend. We borrowed Ruby off the Cockerill family as Diablo was being naughty. They got a 15 cut out and made the first peg! Amazing effort from a pair that haven’t spent any time together. Thanks to Burrandowan Campdraft Committee for a great weekend. Big thanks to the Judge for helping shenay and encouraging her. Huge thanks to the Cockerill Family for loaning us Ruby.

Because he is just so much nicer to ride then Diablo. 😂 good try kiddo 😂 but seriously this was something we knew was coming and are actually looking forward to these two putting some miles in together and seeing just what little Shenay is made of.

Skipton Campdraft was a great first draft to
back into the swing of things after quite a few years off. John stole my pony and took his young horse Pep.
On Saturday in the maiden John and neuro finaled with an 86 but unfortunately the beast they picked in the final was a little too sticky to get out.
Pep tried hard for her first go at it. But didn’t get out of the camp.
On Sunday in the novice the little black cows were proving a challenge and whilst Neuro and John got a 20 cut out. It was a challenge in the draft not wanting to bend round that first peg.
Pep showed us her spicy self which we knew was coming and managed to still cut her cow whilst throwing a few good bucks in. But unfortunately left with a no score.
Very happy with this young mare on how far she has come. She handled her first weekend away like a champ.
The last event for the weekend was the encouragement draft. Neuro worked hard on this beast and got it out the camp only to have it go the wrong way in the draft. We were super excited for friends to go up for a run off. They came in second! To our surprise john and neuro were called up for 4th!
Overall a great weekend. Thanks to the organising committee, the cattle donors and everyone who put in to make this event happen.

John and Flappin Oak this morning at Skipton Campdraft. Made the maiden A final with a 86 but sadly didn’t have such a great final. Thanks to the cattle donors and the draft committee for a great day. Looking forward to tomorrows events
