Just a reminder that if your pet has an interaction with a snake the best thing is to head to the vet. Call them in advance to advise them you’re on your way with a snake bite.
It can be 10min or 10 hours before signs show and it’s usually always too late.
I’m always around to identify if needed and snake removal is free if there’s been a pet interaction.

The rain hasn’t kept the snakes away! There’s been a few in sheds the last couple of days.
Here’s a gorgeous black eastern brown collected today near O’Connell
I got him from under some plastic in a veggie patch in the pouring rain. Just as I bagged him the rain stopped 😂

It’s a bit wet today if you haven’t been outside so here is an eastern brown snake from Tuesday.
It was under a slab and took me well over an hour to coax it out.

A couple of tiger snakes collected yesterday - one from O’Connell and one from Meadow Flat

They are Highly Venomous
(Nothechis scutatus)
Capable of a dangerously venomous bite if handled incorrectly,harassed or provoked

These 2 ball crazies let me look after them for 2 weeks and I don’t know how their legs didn’t fall off! 2 visits a day with LOTS of ball. I had to get them a new one!

A busy day today! 2 tigers (one in town and one in Perthville) and a red belly from Hartley. This little jerk took almost 3 hours to catch in Perthville and multiple visits. It was in a drain pipe and we assumed stuck as we hadn’t seen it for a while. We found where it was stuck and measured it all, excavated the ground and dug up the pipe, cut it and no snake. Turns out the pipe was not straight A few hours later, I went back and we were able to push the snake through the pipe to get it out safely and here is the release. You can see him getting a little bit defensive telling me to back off with the neck flaring
