Let’s talk glue traps
They are horrible. They are a slow painful death for whatever may land in it. They are made for pests like mice but also trap native animals like other mice, lizards, blue tongues and even birds. This poor tiger snake landed in one over night. It’s not always a happy outcome like this one but with patience and time we were able to get it off with no damage.
Please do not use these traps.

I got a call today for a house near Black Springs for a black snake with red rings. I was thinking about all the non Aussie snakes it could be. I arrived and found this stunning juvenile tiger snake had wedged its self between some boxes in a garage. I have never seen one with such vibrant orange and red. The pictures do it no justice!
This is catch 70 for the season and I couldn’t be happier 😍🐍 and the 37th tiger snake
Safely removed and relocated.

What a night!
I had the absolute pleasure to speak to 2 amazing groups
3rd Bathurst All Saints Cathedral Scout Group about snakes in the area and safety when outside. They built a home for their newest member - non venomous of course
The Rotary Club of Bathurst invited me for a chat too about all things snakes at Bathurst RSL Club
And to top it off a call out for a little tiger snake in Eglinton

Let’s see what tomorrow holds! 🐍🐶

Late last night, a resident felt something move and woke up to find this tiger snake next to the bed. Not something you want in your house that’s for sure. They quickly called me and I was able to come and relocate the snake safely.

Sometimes you just need to be patient!
Had to wait for this red bellied black to appear from a crack in the cement but safely caught and relocated

A busy day today! 2 tigers (one in town and one in Perthville) and a red belly from Hartley. This little jerk took almost 3 hours to catch in Perthville and multiple visits. It was in a drain pipe and we assumed stuck as we hadn’t seen it for a while. We found where it was stuck and measured it all, excavated the ground and dug up the pipe, cut it and no snake. Turns out the pipe was not straight A few hours later, I went back and we were able to push the snake through the pipe to get it out safely and here is the release. You can see him getting a little bit defensive telling me to back off with the neck flaring
