On the 4th anniversary of the passing of Abraham Knox, Abeβs family have launched a range of merchandise that promotes conversations about mental health, the importance of holding on, and reaching out when things seem too big to manage.
βYeeram-Nyooβ in Waddawurrung language means βJust One More Dayβ, one more sunrise β symbolising hope and resilience in the face of mental health struggles. When people feel so overwhelmed and hopeless, a reminder that holding on for one more day can make such a difference.
The design, created in collaboration with Abeβs family and Nathan Patterson, draws inspiration from an artwork created by Abe himself, symbolising connection and coming together. The feather motif evokes the spirit bird, carrying the spirits of our loved ones on their journey to rest with our ancestors.
Proceeds from the sale of these products will go to supporting the work being done in the community around mental health and wellbeing, su***de prevention and postvention support.
The family would like to thank Nathan Patterson for his amazing feather design, Linds, Bec and Nathan at Frankie, Corrina for the language, Beth at Wathaurong, Dom at Ghanda and all family and friends who have given their feedback and support in getting the merchandise and store up and running.
