The importance of dental care in horses.

Did you remember to book in your lovely horse for his annual or biannual treatment?

Recently I have been seeing a lot of horses with pain and other symptoms of horses with sharp teeth.
It’s easy to forget but is not something you can leave out.

Did you know if you don’t attend to your horse’s teeth you can not only be contributing to pain, weight loss etc, you can be shortening their life!

The adult horse needs his teeth into his later years and they do not grow back. I’d left to long they can fracture at the molars and cause significant issues.

And the worst part - some of these incredible creatures will still tolerate being ridden and doing their best.

Give your pony their best chance!
Book their dental! 🦷 💕
Some simple signs of teeth issues;
1. Not wanting to take a contact.
2. Too soft and behind the contact (meaning they don’t also want to go forward).
3. Shaking of the head.
4. Head tilt.
5. Rearing, bucking, bolting, chomping of the bit.
6. Behind the leg.
7. Not wanting to take a bridle.
8. Losing weight.
9. Ulcers.

And so many other issues you would not usually expect.

Save money on feed by attending to them sooner x
