LETS TALK BATHROOM BREAKS IN THE GROOMING ROOM AKA THE "CLEAN UP ON AISLE 7"

Great, now I have your attention and hopefully gave you a chuckle. I'd like to post a reminder about the importance of toileting your dogs before they come to their appointment.

I have had an increase of dogs eliminating on the grooming table, in the bath, or in the crate while they wait. It is disruptive and unpleasant, (it happens - I get it) but I'm some cases, it can be somewhat preventable.

Please take them for the brisk walk if you haven't witnessed a bowl movement that morning, or arrive 10 mins early with your poo bags at the ready and take them for a walk around the block.

Unfortunately, I dont have the time to take every client for a "tour of duty" around our backyard before starting, and it also isn't fair to my own dogs to have a constant string of strangers marking and eliminating in their territory.

Accidents happen, and it is very natural for a dog to need to go as soon as it reaches "other dog" territory. But it would be awesome if everyone could give their dog a good opportunity to make any deposits before the appointment starts.

It's mohawk in the bath for this baby's first time in the tub. Our tiniest client yet, Frankie. He really is tiny with huge amounts of cuteness! Frankie came for a face and feet clip to keep him at his poodle best! And because it's hard to tell how tiny he is, the small bandana was folded in half to go around him.

Meet our newest cutie client - puppy Lulu. This little angel had her first bath, blowdry and tidy up today and has been so well introduced to grooming already by her owners and her breeder. She was a pleasure to work with.

We love giving those extra cuddles and a little more time to our special.oldies. They need more understanding and care with failing hearing and sight, and just like puppies, plenty of reassurance.

Oooh, it was an icy one this morning! These were a couple of our characters from today and last week. We have had an infux of Scotties - 5 Scotties in 5 days! I have a few appointments available this week, after next week the calendar will be harder to get into as most days are full. Would you believe Christmas appointments are filling up! (available to current clients only) and can be booked in now for those who book through to the end of the year. Just remember, December is often booked out in September!

Meet Oliver the Cavoodle. Oliver is one of my more "challenging" clients 😉... its ok, his Mum and Dad know 😆. But today Oliver gets the award for "Most Improved" and even put his big boy pants on and had his nails done.

We love meeting a new baby! This was Toby the Spoodle Pups first groom visit this morning and he was a little champion.

It is such an important part of raising your new puppy, to make sure they are comfortable and desensitised to all things grooming related. Puppy hygiene appointments, when they are very young, introduce them to the sights, sounds and senses of the grooming salon enviroment; so by time they are due for that first clip, they are completely comfortable with me, the noise, and the handling involved. Do your puppy a favor - if grooming is going to be a big part of their life, start them early. ( Mowhawks in the bath are mandatory)

Where would we be without our gorgeous seniors? We don't see them featured as often, their grooms may not be quite perfect due to their age and imperfections. They are often harder to groom due to their lack of sight, which often brings anxiety and general confusion. This is gorgeous 16yr old Monty who has been coming for quite some time, but his sight has completely failed him now. He found himself most unsettled today but I couldn't help but take a pic of this peaceful moment he had at the end. No more fussing, he just sat like an old Teddy, in his own little world of thoughts.

Puppadoodles will be closed from Tuesday, 19th March 12pm until Thursday, 9am 28th March while our family spends some quality time away together. Replys to messages may be delayed during this time as I take a break from scanning the diary.
