It is with a note of sadness that we announce the passing of the stallion of Lago Delight.

Lago arrived at Bombora Downs as a 4 year old and he was 23 at the time of his death. Whilst it is fair to say that Lago Delight had modest success as a sire, he did attract a healthy number of mares to the farm in the early years and was highly instrumental in establishing the Bombora brand, and we have much to thank him for.

Economics aside Lago Delight was a friend and whilst he was retired quite some time ago, he remained a beautiful force of nature on the farm. In recent times he had moved with a mare for company, to a purpose built paddock on a new property surrounded by nature. We are happy to report that Lago appeared most content in his new surroundings and it is a great shame that he didn't get to enjoy them for another year or two.

I'd like to thank the Marconi family for entrusting Lago Delight to my care 19 years ago. It was a leap of faith on their part and a chapter that closed yesterday (18th October 2023).
