We just wanted to take a moment to wish all of our owners and fluffy friends a very Merry Christmas 🎄

This year we have got to share in the happy times and sadly some of the hardest times. There are a few of my lovely clients who have had their beautiful dogs cross on over the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 so your special ones will be in our hearts as well.

Thank you for another wonderful year, thank you for trusting myself and Jade with your family members and allowing us into your lives and homes. We absolutely love doing what we do and enjoy getting to spend time with all of your animals.

Please stay safe and have an amazing festive season. We look forward to working with you all in the New Year and providing the best care and service to your family while you are away.

🎄 CHRISTMAS AND NYE BOOKING INFO 🎄

It’s about to hit the silly season so I just wanted to make a few points known to give people time to get organised. Please hit like or comment to boost this so everyone gets a chance to see ❤️

🐾 All changes and cancellations must be advised asap

🐾 All bookings are to be paid in full in advance. All
bookings are to be paid via cash before you leave or left at the property in safe place we can find it

🐾 If anyone has to extend bookings can be paid via transfer or when you get back

🐾 For anyone who needs to come home early those dates will be refunded

🐾 Some animals are being left for some longer periods so please if you have an emergency contact or someone as a back up plan it’s always handy to have this if your animal isn’t coping with you being away

🐾 All owners are welcome to pass our numbers on to neighbours if the neighbour should need to get hold of us

🐾 For any animals on medication please leave exact details of how much and when to administer along with enough medication to cover the time you are away and extra in case anyone doesn’t get back on their original arrival date

🐾 For animals scared of fire works please make sure we can lock your animal away safe and again if they require medication for NYE and fire works please leave that out for us as keeping your animals safe and calm is of utmost importance to us

Jade and myself are very excited to be caring for all of your beautiful animals great and small. You will all be kept up to date with pictures and a little bit on how they are. We thank you for trusting us with your family members and we can’t wait to love them and spend time with them while you all enjoy your lovely holidays ❤️

Hey everyone with so many Christmas bookings can everyone please remember to contact me and change or cancel with notice please if anything changes. There is a lot of people to follow up with and always people looking for care so this allows time to book other animals in that need the care. Any notice would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has booked in for Nov - January. If everyone could please just send a clarification message with the exact date you are leaving and rough time and the date you will be coming back and if that’s in the morning or afternoon.

We have a lot to sort out with travel and visits each day so we want to make sure where schedule every one in, in the correct order based on requirements etc

Now that I have your attention 🤣 for anyone who has used our services and not left a review please take 2 mins to leave an updated review as people like to see the kind of care their animals will get.

If you know you are going away over Christmas you need to book now as our books are getting close to closing. All the kennels are booked up so don’t leave it too late 🫶🏼

⛔️ 🐍. SNAKE WARNING 🐍 ⛔️

Please be aware just how many venomous snakes are around right now. Sadly friends of mine has their dog taken last night by one and he was a huge boy. Another client had her 55kg dog bitten multiple times by an Eastern Brown costing them several thousand in anti venom. The other day in Riverstone Rise there was around 4-5 eastern browns all spotted in different parts of the Estate.

Remove all rubbish and objects from around the yard that snakes can hide under. Mow lawns and keep bushes trimmed and easy to see under.

Signs your dog or cats been bitten….

⛔️ An initial collapse and vomiting
⛔️ Dilated pupils
⛔️ Purple gum colour or very pale
⛔️ Drooling and panting excessively
⛔️ Trembling
⛔️ Weak and wobbly in back legs or unable to rise
⛔️Red or brown coloured urine

Alternatively, your pet may develop delayed symptoms such as lethargy, vomiting and weight loss with muscle wastage

WHAT TO DO - if you think your pet has been bitten do NOT waste any time. Contact the vets immediately. They can run blood tests to detect the venom. If your pet encounters a red belly black you need to move extra fast as their venom is insanely fast acting 💔😭

And that’s a wrap 💫 another lot of school holidays done and dusted. Thank you to all of my amazing clients and animals. I am so grateful that this is what I get to call work! Seeing your animals and giving them love fills my cup up so much. My children absolutely adore getting to see your animals as well. I am blessed that this is what I get to do. Kara’s K9 Care has been running just on 2 years now and it’s been one of the best moves creating this business.

I have had so many bookings from new and regular clients 🙏🏼 but having my own animals and children I have to make sure I don’t over book myself. Sooo this will be me on the September school holidays 🐾🍹🐾

I will be closed from the 14th of Sept and back open on the 21st of September 🐾

I am also booking out very fast for Christmas school holidays. I will be taking bookings from the 16th of Dec up until the 10th of Jan. For anything outside those dates please message me asap as I’m planning holidays and time with my children 🩷

I will always try slot my regulars in so just message me asap so we can work out dates

DOG LOVERS 🐾
Is there anyone out there who has a safe space for two small dogs while their owner works in town. Where the owner is staying they can’t have pets. Owner would like to be able to visit their dogs. They are inside dogs and owner would like them to be apart of the family. These dogs mean a lot and getting the right short term place is essential. Owner would be paying for this service.

Great with kids, no other animals is preferred, must sleep inside and be loved and cared for. If this sounds like the job for you please message to find out more.

Good evening!

Gosh it feels like forever since posting here 🐾

Word of mouth from my regulars has been so incredible and I have been so busy hence not sharing much.

I am absolutely still open and offering pop in and plays or holiday visits - once a day or twice a day.

Walks are a tad harder for me to juggle as I have Mila who is 11 months old so I have a few easy regulars booked in and don’t really offer that as a permanent service now. If you are headed away and do need a hand with walking you can message me and I can see what I can organise to help.

I am happy to care for animals as small as hermit crabs & fish all the way to horses and live stock, all creatures great and small are welcomed here 🩷

💥 FIREWORKS WARNING 💥

Please be aware there will be fireworks at Tannum State Tannum Sands State High School this Saturday night at around 6pm. These will be very loud and echo a long way.

PLEASE PLEASE bring in and secure your animals safely to avoid any run aways or deaths. Please share and tag anyone you know who has animals scared of thunder or fireworks 🐾

I’m very happy to share this with you all. I have completed my first level in reiki healing. I will be doing my second level within the next two months which will be amazing. I will be offering reiki healing for animals around Tannum Sands, Boyne Island, Benaraby, Calliope and Gladstone. I will be coming to the animals home to reduce any extra stress they may be feeling. When working with animals you want to have them feeling safe, calm and relaxed so I feel that coming to your homes will be the best way to ensure this for them.

I’m very excited to bring animal energy healing to the area and can’t wait to work with some animals who need this in their life 💫

Yesterday was a day for the golden oldies. Mitzy is nearly 17 and Poppy is around 12 🐾 even old dogs need to get out and take in all the smells and be in nature 🌿

I love my job. So nice to have the beach to ourselves yesterday. Poppy and I were spoilt with solitude 🖤 it’s also so nice to be back with my beautiful boys. Bundy adore Mila and made sure he did her hair several times today. Patch adores his cuddles and pats and Bundy went back to thinking he was a lap dog and sitting on me.

I love the unconditional love the dogs give, I truely am so lucky to have this as my job 🐾

When you have a new born and have work to do 🤣

So I work with Tilly several times a week and have just been super slack with videos and pictures as I didn’t need/want anymore extra work leading up to having my baby girl however I wanted to share this. I love how animals communicate with us but obviously without words. Tilly is crazy about the hose and every time we go out the back she races over and does several head turns and looks straight at the hose as if to say ‘kara you aren’t picking up my hint here, we need to do hose time’. All my clients have their own funny ways and expressions and learning how to communicate and interact with them all is so special to me. Love you Til Til 💜

A game of trust with Oakey boy. This beautiful boy had a hard first year of life and is still learning how to be a dog. He doesn’t really know how to play so to see him doing this with me is so special

I love when owners tell me that their dog/cat doesn’t really like strangers and loves me after a few minutes 😻 This stunning girl ended up following me every where and came up under the blanket to play.

So this morning was interesting lol! Asher and I thought all the rain had passed just after this video. We got smashed another 3 times 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m sure many cars got a laugh this morning. I didn’t get any pictures as it was raining so Asher cuddles it is. This was as he hid from the rain the first time, the wind was howling and it got so cold! I was glad I had my coffee waiting in the car for me

Welcomes like this will never get old. I get just as happy as they do. Animals give a really different kind of love, it’s so pure and special 💛

This is why I love my job. Seeing a dog who is normally scared and timid get so excited just makes my heart grow 🐾💙🐾

It’s been a while since I’ve seen these little boys and Murphy certainly let me know that he remembered me 😍 this is why my jobs so special. They each all hold a special spot marked with a paw print 🐾 in my heart ❤️

Til Til as I like to call her always runs straight for the rope when I arrive, not any other rope just this one rope. I felt so bad tonight as vertigo had kicked on before I was meant to see her but I got myself together and walked to her place. I told her I was sorry and couldn’t play tonight so being the smart cookie she is we improvised, well she did lol. I sat down and she would jump up and bring the rope to me as I couldn’t lean down. We made it work 🙂 she is such a beautiful girl Miss Tilly
