All of these pups are shown successfully, picking up many wins at Breed & Group Level.

To have the whole litter of 6 out there being shown successfully is rare. Thank you to the 5 beautiful Owners/Families that are owned by these stunning Aravan dogs.

Dolly picked up Baby Puppy in Group last weekend at Oakey show.
My lovely friend Paula run her in for me so I could watch my beautiful Puppy go around the ring.
Paula is going to help me train her for agility.

The day I dreamed about for years has finally arrived. And it went nothing like I had planned. I am proud to announce the (eventually) safe arrival of 4 Allitletail pups. 2 NBT and 2 tails. Ren has taken to motherhood like I knew she would. Absolutely loving the role and super proud of her little bubbas. After labour failed to progress, I took Ren to the Raymond Terrace Veterinary Clinic where Beth Tillman and staff were absolutely amazing. I’m incredibly grateful for their calm, friendly and professional handling of myself and Ren. Mum and bubs are home and thriving now. I wonder how part 2 of my plan will turn out? 🤞🏻💙 Thank you to those that have helped me get to here and to those who’s advice I needed this morning. You know who you are 🥰

Hip Dysplasia in our Dogs.
This isn't common in our Stumpies to my knowledge.

Today I have had a specialist come into my work to x-ray my 5 month old puppies. My future breeding stock.

It's not cheap to have these scores done, but it's very very important.
Anyone including myself in the Veterinary industry can do Radiology, but the PennHIP is about correct positioning, and it's a $5000 course to be an approved PennHIP Radiographer.

Pups were sedated and given a full general Anaesthitic to do these X-rays.

"PennHIP" allows us to accurately predict which dogs will develop hip dysplasia and so develop hip arthritis, as well as provide a very accurate assessment of which dogs should be used to breed with in order to eliminate hip dysplasia.

PennHIP assessments can be carried out from 16 weeks of age.

The PennHIP method has great advantages over the standard Australian CHD diagnostic method that evaluates dogs at one year or older.

What is PennHIP?

PennHIP is a scientific method to evaluate a dog for its susceptibility to develop hip dysplasia. The radiographic procedure involves a special positioning of the dog so that the dog's "passive hip laxity" can be accurately measured. In simple terms, passive hip laxity refers to the degree of looseness of the hip ball in the hip socket when the dog's muscles are completely relaxed.

Research has shown that the degree of passive hip laxity is an important factor in determining susceptibility to develop Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD) later in life. Radiographic evidence of hip DJD, also known as osteoarthritis, is the universally accepted confirmation of CHD.

Moving forward...May 2022

🏆 I now have my very own Dogs Qld/ANKC Prefix "Bobtailz" activated.

🥂 Now a Registered breeder solely on my own.

🥂 My Beautiful dogs are solely in my name only.

💜 Now I can enjoy showing and showcasing my chosen breed, Australian Stumpytail Cattle Dogs.

I will breed 1 or 2 litters a year, continuing to improve the breed, and for my own program, NOT just to puppy farm or for the sake of breeding for $$$$

CH Aravan Gerry Standing

Gerry is a stunning dog. The nicest stumpie I've seen yet.

He's very correct, lovely type, and a very chilled personality.

He has had many compliments from judges and isn't far off his Supreme title, he hasn't been shown a lot.

I certainly won the dog lotto getting this boy.

Gerry has just sired his first litter, awaiting to see how this litter turns out.

I am currently showing him, and enjoy being out with him.

Like all Aravan dogs, Gerry is just a really lovely dog.

Gerry is 7 years old, so I am collecting straws for my future breedings.

I am very blessed to be starting off my small breeding program with such a magnificent dog. Couldn't ask for a better Foundation dog.
Eternally grateful to Mr & Mrs Eichman for allowing me to have the best dog. 🥰🏆
