The Aquarist Chronicles: Things every fish tank keeper has (or inevitably will) experience. Only once you have completed everything on this list you can call yourself a true aquarist 😜
1. A taste (or mouthful) of tank water 🤢
2. Unintentional flooding
3. A fish that mysteriously disappears for a long time and you assume the worst. Only for it to casually show up and act like nothing happened
4. A camera-shy fish that knows you’re trying to take a photo
5. Telling oneself that one tank is enough
6. Telling oneself maybe just one more fish 🐠
7. A fish that dramatically plays dead, only to jet away at the speed of sound when you prod it
8. A fish that gains ninja-like evasion skills and dodges your every move when you’re trying to catch it. Sometimes you have no choice but to tear the whole tank down
9. The Algae Hall Of Fame: i.e. black beard, hair, brown, green film, green spot, green water cyanobacteria. Extra bragging rights if you've battled them all! 🏆
10. That divine sensation when you successfully breed your fish for the first time. Bow down, mere mortals!
What ever emotions or hardships we have faced, the aquarium hobby is still worthwhile to us.
