Fredricos Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are a small Dogs Queensland (Dogs Australia formerly known as the A.N.K.C.) registered hobby breeder and exhibitor of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. We mainly concentrate on the whole colours; Black & Tan and Ruby. The dogs being used in our breeding program are screened for:

- Mitral Valve Disease by a qualified cardiologist Dr Geoff Nicolson: BVSc (Hons

) MVETSTUD Dipl. ECVIM-CA
- Eye diseases by qualified (FAVSC) ophthalmologist Dr Michael Bernays: BVSc FANZCVS
- DNA testing by Massey University (New Zealand) for Curly Coat/Dry Eye (CC/DE), Episodic Falling (EF) and for Parentage

Considered the hallmark of the breed, Cavaliers are an active, graceful, well-balanced dog, very gay and free in action; fearless and sporting in character, yet at the same time gentle and affectionate. It is our aim to continue to breed such delightful little spaniels. Fredricos Cavalier King Charles Spaniels respects the original standard of our breed and can trace the lineage of all of our Cavaliers back to many of the most notable and influential forebearers of our breed and will continue to choose quality, health tested dogs from imported or down from imported lines to continue the diversity in our breeding program. All of our Cavaliers are fed a wholesome raw food diet balanced over time. We believe this is the most appropriate way to feed our spaniels providing them overall better health, longevity and a stronger immune system. A big thank you to 👀 Ophthalmologist Dr. Vicki Liddle for checking over four of our Cavaliers this afternoon! We had such a fantastic time lot's of laughter, stories and plenty of puppy cuddles. We are really appreciate that she was able to take the time to go over our Cavaliers. We've still got a few more to get done over the next few weeks, but we're off to a great start!

Health screening is a crucial part of our breeding program, and Ophthalmologist Dr. Liddle is carefully examining our Cavaliers for known hereditary eye diseases, including Congenital and Hereditary Cataracts, Retinal Dysplasia, and other eye conditions.

Little Kosmos took off on the big bird to his new family in Melbourne. He has a very important role to fulfill as he will be trained as an emotional support dog for a very special young lady. This is the second ruby gorgeous family has welcomed from us. This sturdy puppy has all the personality traits to compliment his role and we are really happy to help our special families.

It was really hard to say goodbye, and I felt a wave of emotion with tears streaming down my face as I tucked him into his crate. Every time I go to the airport to drop off a dog or puppy, even when my girls are sent interstate for breeding and I know they'll be back in a few days, I find it incredibly tough! I try to tell myself to hold back my emotions, that they'll be just fine, but nope, out come the tears! I'm sure I'm not the only breeder who feels this way 😆😅😄

Happy with a Reserve B Challenge for Alice " Fredricos Alice Of Wanderlust " tonight at the Dogs Queensland Dog Of The Year Support Show. She's starting to settle down in the ring and only did a few hops on her hind quarters. Not sure if she thinks she's a dog or...?! 🫣😂

Miss Posh " Fredricos Portout Starbordhome " was an automatic Baby of Breed ( only baby entered ). It sure looks like she's getting the hang of this show ring bizo. She's having a great time strutting her stuff around!

It has been a good six months since I've stepped in the show ring and yesterday was a fantastic day for my dogs at the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Queensland's Specialty Show!

I only brought three dogs this year, and all three placed in the top three of their classes. Huge thanks to New Zealand judge Anne Dobie (Glengariff) for recognising my wholecolour dogs, and to the club and committee for all their hard work in organising the show.

Matilda placed 2nd in the Australian Bred Bitch class. She hasn't been in the ring for over twelve months and is out of coat from having her litter in March. I'm looking forward to growing it back out and having her back in the ring soon 🥰...

It was wonderful, as always, to catch up with my interstate friends. Unfortunately, I didn't have the energy to do the Sunday show as it's been a busy month on the work front and I have run out of steam!

Can't wait to try them out after their next bath this week 😍

Hey everyone.👋 I hope you're a doing well! I wanted to give you all a quick update on Matilda and her upcoming puppies.

It's getting real close now, just under 2 weeks until the big day! Matilda's doing great, and it's been so lovely having her potter around the house with me while I go about my day. She doesn't like it when I go too far now so I try to keep as close to her as I can to make her feel sure. We're gearing up for her ultrasound and x-ray which is next Friday a day or so before she gives birth. We like to work very closely with our incredible vet Dr Sara Pitts at Rosewood Veterinary Clinic in the lead up. We check how mum is travelling, her puppies heart beats as well as a puppy count. The process generally takes up to 24 hours from stage 1 so I'll be awake for a day before and several after. Will need lots of coffee ☕ lol 😆 I'm thankful to have an awesome tag team between my hubby and daughter as we all get involved

Preparations are in full swing over here. We've given the whelping room a deep clean, and we'll be setting up the whelping box for her over the course of this week.
Next on the agenda? Lots of washing - specifically, the cloth nappies we'll be using during the birthing process. Birthing is a bit messy and it's a bit of a process, but the actual whelping itself is one of my favourite parts of the whole breeding process so I'm looking forward to it. ☺️

Issy, bless her heart, is itching to help out this time around. She's shown lots of interest, despite finding the smells a bit overwhelming last time. Can't blame her, though; it's not exactly a bouquet of roses, if you catch my drift! The smell is highly metallic a combination of blood and amniotic fluid. Very potent. It reminds me of the first C-section I witnessed years ago - let's just say I didn't handle it too well back then and my mentor had to catch me as I fainted. But hey, after that (and my own daughters birth) I think I can handle just about any smell 😂

Our beloved Gypsy, Fredricos Amour Boheme, with her gentle and loving nature, captivating dark doe-like eyes, and beautiful expression, has endeared herself to countless hearts across the state.

Although she's happily retired from the world of showing and breeding, her work as a cherished therapy and assistance dog with Empower Assistance Dogs since 2020 fills us with an immense sense of pride and joy. Every interaction she has leaves an indelible mark of warmth and comfort.

In this special moment captured with the Queensland Assistant Minister for Health & Regional Health Infrastructure and Member for Keppel, Brittany Lauga, during the R U OK?Day celebration at Queensland Children's Hospital last September, Gypsy's presence shines brightly, symbolizing hope, compassion, and unconditional love.

So immensely proud to have bred such a beautiful soul and to be able to share her with a very special team of people who are in a position to be able to share her love to those, no matter their walk in life, who need of her love - even just for a short while. These moments are what makes a difference and why the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as a breed is so important to keep and cherish.

Seeing the year out on a happy note with my gorgeous kids at the final show of the Dogs Qld Festive Fiesta. 🐾 A big thanks to hubby for coming along, helping me with the dogs and also to my daughter for being my very own cheer squad. 😄

❤️ Fredricos Francisco Fajardo ❤️ strutted his stuff at his second show and won Best Baby Puppy Dog and then onto winning Best Baby Puppy of Breed. There were 7 babies entered in total.

I couldn't stay for in show, so reluctantly, I had to withdraw Alice. I decided to wear all white tonight and mother nature's response was to cue a storm right when general specials was about to start. 😂 Wasn't terribly keen on running in the rain and testing the absorbancy of my outfit 😄

Anyways...stepping into 2024, I wanted to wish my Facebook followers a very Happy New Year. I hope 2024 bring you all health, happiness and many good times!

Taj " Fredricos Cowboy Bebop" and Alice " Fredricos Alice Of Wanderlust" also shone bright under Judge Ms Charlotte Shah! Taj 🤠 was Junior of Breed and Alice 🌺 showcased her happy go lucky self and was given the Female Challenge gaining her points towards her championship title! 👏👏
