We had two fish hook cases in two weeks - what are the odds! 🫢On Monday, four month old Oreo found herself with a fish hook stuck in her chest. Thankfully, the hook was able to be removed smoothly, and she returned home without any further issues 🫶🏼#kitten #vet #cute #vetnurse #greencross #greencrossvets #catsofinstagram #kittensofinstagram #kittenlife #animalcare #petsofinstagram #pets #vetclinic #kittenlove #surgery #veterinarian #cuteanimals
When curiosity leads to trouble 🐶🎣On Saturday, Little Miss Scout surprised the team with a fish hook stuck in her lip! Dr Jasmine and Dr Michael teamed up to tackle the delicate and challenging task of removing the hook. Currently on the road to recovery, Scout has no immediate plans for fishing trips in the near future ☺️#puppy #vet #cute #vetnurse #greencross #greencrossvets #dogsofinstagram #puppylife #animalcare #petsofinstagram #pets #puppiesofinstagram #vetclinic #puppylove #surgery #veterinarian
Meet Tabitha, one of our most senior (don’t tell her we said that) regulars at a respectable 19 years young!
Tabitha has two conditions that are quite common in cats, called chronic kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. The team at Greencross Vets Campbelltown work closely with Tabitha and her mum to keep her on track through regular check ups, blood and urine tests, and medication adjustments.
An essential part of Tabitha’s management plan is keeping her blood pressure within normal ranges. It’s really important that she is relaxed while we take these readings so that they’re not falsely elevated by the “white coat” effect. To do this, we take a stress-free approach by letting her first acclimatise to the room. We then give Tabitha her favourite treats while taking several blood pressure readings from a tiny cuff on her tail. If we also need to perform a blood test that day, we put numbing cream on her skin which takes effect while she’s devouring her delicious treats. 😻
