Miss Kiera came for her regular visit today. Sweet Kiera is getting on in years and has possibly had a stroke recently so… sometimes it’s not always about technically correct processes for grooming, but rather what is best and what makes the dogs comfortable. Today Kiera did amazing and stood for her entire bath, but when she returned to the table, she said “Nup! That ain’t happening Sherry! I WILL NOT ADULT AND STAND UP!”. Which was totally fine and actually expected, so Kiera was allowed to get comfy while she was dried and then allowed to remain comfy while she had her clip. The sling was used today to help Kiera have some stability while being required to stand and have legs and feet finished and we think she thoroughly enjoyed being able to flop in the sling but still have her feet touching the table and stand for 5second intervals when she felt like it.
We care about our oldies as much as all of our clients, but sometimes our oldies get that little extra special treatment.
Master Dobby was excited to be at work today! Happy as a pig in mud he was! This morning Sherry made another attempt at returning to work. Unfortunately more rest is needed for the wrist, hopefully a few more days will do the trick, but only time will tell.
Yesterday while at the Gold Coast, Sherry was lucky enough to get squeezed in for an appointment to have a custom splint fitted. Absolutely in love and actually got some REAL SLEEP last night! #dequervainstenosynovitis #dequervains #custommadesplint

Sasha melted in the bath and then proceeded to explode in the salon haha.

Yesterday we met this guy who was in really bad shape with severe matting. His owner new he had been neglected for at least 6mths and there is no excuse. Today we got this guy back in to finish his groom because we had to send him home unfinished yesterday for multiple reasons. He is now on a two week schedule for a bath and tidy to get him into a routine and also because he needs some training on how to behave correctly while being groomed and also to get him used to the routine that comes with professional grooming. Please brush your dog, matting is extremely uncomfortable and causes pain every-time your pet moves because the matting is pulling on the skin. Today Bruce came in for a much needed makeover. This TikTok sound has been used in fun, and is not intended to offend. It is also not a dog at Bruce’s owner as I have never been called a lazy groomer, but I know of other groomers around the world who have been called lazy for doing what was best for the dog.
