Dog with turkeys
Its the first year I have kept turkeys and I'm learning a lot. They are very interesting critters and also super silly.
The poults insist on roosting in the dog cage and don't seem to realise they can fly out in the morning. They prefer to wait for me to launch them over the fence.
My birds free range all day every day this time of year. Not the best for show bird because their feathers fall out or aren't as neat as the birds kept in confined cages.
Turkeys can be quite calm and friendly. The certainly love food time.
Frolicing kids after a Milk high
To my darwin followers. I'm thinking of running a coffee afternoon at the farm on Sat 14th august or Sun 15th
Children may be able to ride a horse and possibly hop on doug the quiet bull. They could collect duck eggs, and feed a Turkey.
Can I have a show of hands who would be interested.
It would be free event. And all activities at own risk.
Do message me if keen. What day works best. we have a pool to jump in while adults have a cuppa.
Cheers janet
Powered, the one eyed duck
Meet popeye. Poor little guy had a terrible eye infection as a two day old, possibly had hay in his eye and I didn't notice until too late. Treating with antibiotics and its coming good. I have no doubt he has lost sight in this eye. He gets about fine with his siblings.
