So PROUD of the K4D pack.
Always aiming for better.
Note: (Kyle) videoâs have not been edited at all.
Just sayin!
Very proud moment for Perry and little Lanny.
Perry has worked hard with Lanny from a puppy and is now working off lead in a high distraction environment.
Great job Perry.
Iâve been meaning to post this for a while, great leadership!
Scooby
Great Dane x Mastiff
2 year
Male
Reactive to dogs/people and struggled being out with any distractions.
The video speak for itself!
Bowie
2yr old
French Bulldog
Male
Main issues:
Territorial
Reactive to dogs and birds
Obviously when you are working with any behaviour you are always having address a number of issues.
Particularly reactivity. When trying to rehab a dog with reactivity and territorial problems, itâs crucial to start all work in the home.
Without changing the way a dog sees its humans, behavioural problems can be very hard to modify.
In the below video you will first see Bowie relaxing in his crate with the door open whilst trades people are in and around the home. This alone is a big deal as Bowie used to make it extremely hard for people arriving and working at the home.
He now understands his role within the home which doesnât include terrorising people on the property.
Because Karen and Pete did such a good job reclaiming their home. We got stuck into the reactivity.
He arrived at my training centre and within 45 minutes I could see he was ready for the next challenge. We all jumped in the cars and headed to the Noosa River. What he did was unexpected by the owners, see for yourself.
Keeping in mind he couldnât be in public places 3 weeks ago!
Bloke
5 year
Full male
Kelpie
At the age of 8 weeks he attended a puppy school and showed extreme fear on the first week.
He returned the second week and all he did was bark in fear.
He never returned.
The owners have tried to get him out of his reactivity but he has been practicing this behaviour for 5 yearâs. Unfortunately, when reactive behaviour is imprinted from a puppy and not handled properly, itâs very hard to undo.
Iâve been working with the owners and their dogs, in particular Bloke and today magic happened.
Most of my work is guiding and coaching the humans behind the dog to work on their response.
When you have a reactive dog, you will most likely have an anxious human when with the dog.
Humans transfer a lot of negative energy, fear, anxiety, embarrassment and overall a projection a leader shouldnât show to their dogs. Today, Peter nailed it with Bloke. He didnât reacted at all, even when dogs barked a them.
We still have work to do but this is a massive achievement. Blokeâs future is looking very positive.
This is not the end product but this
Romeo had his heart set on one stick only today.
It took him a while to work out how to run at me with it, but we got there then!
Ziggy working hard for his leader.
I love receiving client videos showing me how awesome their dogs are. Ziggy was once very reactive, over excited and had no focus at all.
Today he is a very different boy.
Duration work.
Itâs important that your dog develops the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
Then include distractions.
Youâll see the K4D pack demonstrating high level obedience in this video. These dogs make hard exercises look easy.
I love watching my pack members smash difficult exercises in class.
Yes, I push the limits but only the strong survive!
All the dogs in this video started with low levels of impulse control and obedienceâŚ
Confidence Building, relationship strengthening, balance, coordination, strength, fitness and endurance, challenging, focus, distraction work, bypassing, heeling, off lead heeling, obedience.
The Kats 4 Dog pack working closely today achieving so much. Humans were on today so naturally so were their dogs.
Great to see so many working hard to achieve the best results for their dogs.
Watching the pack work together is always a highlight of my job.
They work hard for the ultimate reward.
Praise from their leader â¤ď¸

Creating a neutral dog.
My program is all about creating a neutral dog. This is a dog that can walk passed anything without pulling, lunging, getting excited. A neutral dog is confident, happy, respectful of other dog and peopleâs space. Itâs easy to take a neutral dog out to cafes, go on holidays with, go camping and so on.
So often people assume letting their dog say hello to everyone and every dog is a well socialised dog. You will find these dogs have poor social etiquette, pull on lead, jump on other dogs or people. If you allow your dog to practice these behaviour donât get annoyed with them when they do it when you donât want them too.
The biggest tip I can give any dog owner. Focus on creating calm first. Donât prompt over excitement anywhere.
Once your dog is neutral and has a good off switch. You can then introduce a level of excitement that can be switched off very quickly and easily.
Remember, what you practice is what your dog becomes.
And I always say, no on-lead greeting with other dogs. This will also create very poor social etiquette and prevents your dogs ability to make good social decisions.
Thanks for the videoâs Annie.
If youâre looking to have an obedient dog, you must first start with creating leadership at home.
If your dog seeâs you as a leader in your home, what you can achieve outside of your home will be much easier.
