💥 One Reason 💥

Affectionately known as Cappy, came to us for a well earned spell and pre-training on the treadmill. He truly got the deLUXe treatment.

What we provided:

✅️ 6 week spell
✅️ 6 week treadmill plan to build fitness and muscle conditioning
✅️ High quality feed from Bremer Stockfeeds, Redmond's Pet & Livestock Supplies & Nielsens Hay and Chaff to provide energy and assist with muscle repair
✅️ Specialised Farrier work performed by Dylan Pike
✅️ Equine Sports Chiropractic work by James from Equus Performance Services
✅️ Dentistry by Sarah from Essjay Equine
✅️ Mane tidy and body clip by Emily from Horse Haircuts

One Reason has had the full treatment, is feeling well and is now back at Oasis Thoroughbred Farm to begin fast work on the track. We look forward to seeing this horse back out and racing 🏇

✨️ Transformation Tuesday ✨️

Gotebo arrived at LUX straight from Victoria after being purchased by new owners. After a good spell to acclimatise and mature, he completed an 8 week pre-training program to get him fit and ready for fast work on the track.

Yesterday, we were thrilled to see him win first up after more than 12 months off the track 🏆

Services we provided:
- spelling
- pre-training on the treadmill
- specialised feeding regime
- hoof maintenance
- regular monitoring of his comfort to ensure there was no muscle soreness associated with his fitness work

We're proud to be a part of his journey and a big congratulations to all connections 👏🏽

Whenever their owner needs to go away for work, or enjoy a holiday, she can have peace of mind that her horses are well cared for. It's also a mini holiday for the horses too, so win, win! 🎉

🌟 MJ 🌟

MJs story began when his owner, Andra, reached out to us, following a diagnosis of a P3 sequestrum.

Following surgery, MJ was fitted with a hospital plate that required daily swab changes until there was a reduction in discharge, this took approximately 6 weeks. The dressing changes were then changed to every second day. Once there was no longer discharge, the swabs sole purpose was to fill the defect so that no foreign material could get in. After multiple cycles of hospital plates and then a set of pads, MJs final trim resulted in going back to bare foot!! 🎉

What we provided:

🏠 A clean, dry stable environment
🩹 Daily dressing changes
🔍 Close monitoring of dressing to ensure no shavings were getting into the defect
👀 Close monitoring of his comfort
👞Cavallo boots to protect his hospital plate from wear and tear
🚚 Transport to and from UQ VETS for his farrier appointments/rechecks
👣 Sourcing hoof supplements
🍽 Modifying his diet to satisfy his needs
🚶‍♂️Gentle walking on the treadmill (when approved by vet) for exercise and mental stimulation
🌿 A small yard once he was ready to progress out of the stable

He was with us for almost 6 months before he was ready to go home. We are so grateful that Andra put her faith in us to care for precious MJ aka Mr. Beautiful. He is now back under saddle and we look forward to seeing how he continues to progress ❤️
