Heritage Horses in Harmony will be at
EQUITANA Melbourne 2024!!

Find us in the breed barn at Equitana 2024 in the exhibit as we host a united representation of our Australian Heritage Horse - Brumby.

Our united group encompasses Heritage Horses in Harmony, Brumby Matters Horsemanship & Connection clinics,
Brumby Riding Club Inc’ Vic 2024, Melbourne Brumby Rehomers and Clancy, The Kosciuszko Brumby and Just A Little Brum.

You’ll be able to meet our beautiful brumbies including Caspian-17, Buddy, Benni, Ziggy & George (HHH), Ranger and Lola (MBR) & of course Clancy and Apple ❤️

We are so excited to be teaming together to spread our love of the brumby!!

A beautiful rope halter/lead set (new).
The close up photo is a better indication of the colour. I love these rope halters - so well made, a nice weight and feel AND they look amazing!!
This is the only one we have left. I use these for everyone from yearlings through to our big WBxClydiexTB Tempest. Fits all of them well!!

🥰 Our beautiful girl Annie 🥰 so glad to have some good news from the vet today - thyroid tumour is benign 🙏❤️
She has been with us 10 years now, her first foal is our handsome 1 in a million chap Oakley. Now 19 years old she is retired and living her best life - many years ahead of her still!! ❤️

We have many brumbies waiting for their new humans. I am still playing catch up with messages and returning calls regarding EOI’s - for this I apologise.

However, please see below -

Last night was the absolute final straw for me - after an extremely stressful 3 weeks back at work, I jumped on fb to catch up with what has been going on. Particularly because I have now had numerous potential new homes pull out because they want ‘nothing to do with the brumby mob’ after watching all explode on fb.
Rehoming is difficult enough without the BS that has gone on and continues between individuals and groups.

The brumbies in our care now are it. Our gates are now only open to those that have been through Heritage Horses in Harmony as we will always honour our boomerang policy. Our brumbies never chose this life, they were forced into it.

We never talk numbers, but today I will…
We have taken in just under 100 - but will tick over the 100th when we welcome some unborn foals in the next couple of months. We have taken truck loads between 15 and 20 at a time direct from NPWS, who have always worked with us with the best for the trapped brumbies at heart. I will not name the two wonderful people who are my NPWS contacts as they have received so much abuse and threats - just for doing their job. But I thank them for calling me - often times as the last resort for the unwanteds…you know, the chestnuts, the skinny wormy and lousy ones, the old mares. The ones that were in the throw away pen because other rehomers wouldn’t take them.

We have taken back rehomed brumbies from other rehomers due to welfare issues. We have taken in brumbies who have been pushed from pillar to post and to the brink of death from being so shut down they don’t eat or drink. We have taken on orphans…and for what???

We have put in so much physically, emotionally and financially. I have to draw the line when our own brumby community is at war around us - and so publicly.

I am at this point ashamed to be a part of it - despite never having taken part in any of the dialogue until now.

Heritage Horses in Harmony will live on, but we will not be a part of or associated with ANY online brumby group.

Please - reach out to your brumby rehomers. Make sure they are okay, because if they are feeling half of what I am now I can tell you without doubt they are going to need your support.
Go help them feed up, go sit in the brumby paddock and listen to them, or sit with them in silence and just be there.
What you see on fb is generally the happy glossed over moments but behind the scenes it is heartache, heartbreak, bloody hard work, blood sweat and tears.

Disgusted and ashamed. I am done.

Hi everyone - just a quick message to let you know that unfortunately I haven't been able to rally enough brumby savvy troops to hold our planned open days on the Australia Day Weekend.
You're welcome to send a PM if you'd like to organise a visit - due to work and family commitments, visits must be pre-booked and weekends and public holidays are our only availability.

I will be posting our current list of brumbies and their availability for sponsorship/rehoming.
Please message if you haven't yet filled in an EOI form and are interested in a meet and greet with the view to a potential adoption. If we don't have a brumby to suit you, we can certainly suggest some fellow reputable rehomers that might.

Thank you to those who's EOI's I have received. I am still getting through the list and will be contacting you all individually!!

Apologies to all our followers - I haven't been able to access our page since early December. Hopefully this sees me able to post again!!

Firstly, a belated Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all.
We hope you had a safe and enjoyable time with family & friends - both human and equine.

To those that have sent in EOI's - now that Christmas/New Year is out of the way, we will be contacting you all to organise a time for a chat and potential visits - this will happen over the next week.

Ideally, we would like to hold an open day/weekend Fri 26th/Sat 27th/Sun 28th January - Where we will have handlers and volunteers onsite to help with meet and greets and some hands-on activities with our brumbies.
Please let me know if you're interested in attending - you do not need to be adopting a brumby to join in.
