I met the bravest little pup today! 🤩🥰🐾

His name’s Winston and at only 11 weeks old, he came in for his first grooming experience, the $10 Intro Tidy. We trimmed his nails, scissored around his eyes, shaved his pads and bottom and gave him a bit of a brush. He settled so quickly and was so relaxed for the whole thing! Because he was so brave, I even managed to get a quick bath and little blow dryer experience as well.
Hopefully we’ve set this little guy up for a fear free grooming experience for the rest of his life 🍀🤞🏼😁🐾🕊

✨Sensational transformation 🤩✨
I can’t tell you how unbelievably satisfying it is looking back at photos of what some of these pups look like when they first walk through my door.
Georgie hadn’t been groomed for many months due to her extreme fear of the clippers. While I did manage to use the clippers for a little around her back legs, there was no way I was getting close to her head so I took the small win and finished the groom using only scissors. She looks amazing but what’s even better is that I bet she feels amazing too!

Perfect for beginners who want to learn how to groom their own dogs.
The benefits are many!
🐾 Being able to maintain good hygiene in between clips will save you $$ because it’ll be months instead of weeks before you need to take your pup to the groomer.
🐾 Ideal for winter, being able to maintain your dog and keeping them warm and fluffy until Spring trim time.
🐾 When you do go to the groomer, you’ll have your choice of hairstyles because you won’t be limited by “we have to shave off all the knots”. Fluffy and cute suddenly becomes an option!
🐾 Minimise the chance of ear infections, eye boogers and skid marks on the rug when Fido comes inside to wipe the ‘debris’ from his morning excrement 😜
🐾 Most importantly, your pup will be so much more comfortable each and every week being able to easily see, p*e and be knot-free!

Beautiful girl with lots of attitude, pulling off the top-knot look 🥰
She doesn’t like the scissors near her face so it took a while to gently, snip, praise, snip, praise and eventually get her back into shape. A long slow process but worth it in the end 🤩🐶🐾

Grooming Workshops 🐾
Just a quick lesson in how to get knots out 😁
Tan and I having a bit of fun with Suki and Lumi.
With 4 dogs, Tan’s goal is to be able to look after their grooming herself but when life gets in the way it becomes a monster job. Armed with a few new tips and tricks, the right tools and plenty of little models to practice on, it won’t be long until she’s a pro!
So happy to support her along the way 🥰🐾🐶🐶🐶🐶

Two of my favourite little gentlemen (aka ratbags) 😁🤩
Their first big boy haircut. Bobby was relaxed from the start and we got his face shaved with the clippers. Little Harry wasn’t so sure about the noise so I just scissored his face short this time.
They have both been back since for another haircut and I’m happy to say Harry was brave enough for the clippers on his second visit.
It’s all about building trust and not pushing before they’re ready

My new friend Peppi 🥰
After a few bad experiences, Peppi was a little nervous when we got started but I spent a little extra time making sure he trusted me every step of the way. Even though this groom took us about twice as long as normal, I’m fully confident his visits will be shorter as he becomes more and more of a Zen Dog!

Quite the successful transformation I would say! 🤩
Not all knots need to be shaved back to bald. A bit of extra time and effort and Bumblebee is back to her gorgeous self.

Puppies first groom is so important.
Loud noises, vibrating clippers, experiencing the brush, the nail clippers, having their face and feet played with and being away from the pack can be quite scary for the first time.
I’ve always tried to make that first experience very peaceful with a little fun and a lot of reassurance. Ideally it’s a quick visit but sometimes we need to take a little more time to introduce each step slowly and not rush them into anything they’re not too sure about.
If you have any questions or concerns about getting your pup groomed for the first time, send me a quick message, I’m happy to reassure worried parents too 🥰
