*** Used stud sire Telpara Hills Element 468P42 is for sale and ready to go***

$7,500 no gst.

Telpara Hills Element is a low birth weight, homozygous black and polled sire with excellent temperament, underline and carcass traits, and will suit many cow herds and operations.

We have used Element for 4 years, and have always been impressed with the style, body and temperament of his calves, along with the low birth weight and fast growth rate, which has made him suitable for heifers and mature cows. His daughters have perfect udders and mothering ability and are easy doing, easy calving females.

We no longer have use for Element due to no fault of the bull, so he is ready to go. He came out of the cows late February so has had a small break since joining.

Below is a snippet of his sale catalogue advert, showing breeding and EBVs, where he was purchased for $15,000 in 2020, plus a variety of progeny photos from stud brangus and brahman cows.

Located Gympie. Can assist with delivery pending location.

Rockhampton Brangus Sale 2023 - Lot 275

Dynamite Simba S13

With his faultless temperament he has been a favourite since birth. Wonderfully thick, with smoothness and easy do-ability.

Simba had a successful show record from limited outings, including Champion Jnr Brangus Bull EKKA 2022, Champion Tropical Bull Noosa Show 2022 and Champion Interbreed Bull Maleny 2023.

His Dam, Dynamite Jaffa K22, has been a prolific matron within the herd, consistently producing progeny that have become the nucleus of our female herd over the last 6 years. Every female calf she has produced has been retained, with them all offering excellent mothering ability, loads of milk and great fertility every year. Simba was her first male progeny and a standout from birth, and she has a cracking bullcalf at side this season, proving her consistency every year. Jaffa is out of Trowbridge BBB HFT Prue G2, who was introduced in the pedigree of our other sale bull, Dynamite Soloman S06. She a lovely big F1 cow, going back to Fairy Springs and Chudley bloodlines.

Simba is sired by Telpara Hills Element 468P42, sharing the same sire and consistency of Soloman (Lot 276). Element has been instrumental in improving thickness, tidying underlines, reducing birthweight and increasing growth rates, with his calves born small but vigorous that growing like weeds. He is by Telpara Hills Ace of Spades 541K65, and out of Telpara Hills Miss Final Cut 468K5, both of whom are phenotypically and genetically impressive.

Simba is no fluke, and is the result of genetic consistency selecting for type, performance and temperament. He is a homozygous black, heterozygous poll/scurr sire in the making that we are proud to present at the Rockhampton Brangus Sale in 2023.

Dynamite Solomon S06 is a low content (29% BB), high yielding type bull with beautiful skin type, excellent mobility and is packed full of red meat. He is homozygous polled and dominant black. His dam, Dynamite New Princess N14 is an ultrablack daughter of Dynamite Kryptonite K04 and Trowbridge BBB HFT Prue G2, who goes back to the influential sire, HF Tiger 5T.

Grandam 'Prue' was purchased for $6000 from the Sydney Royal Angus Sale in 2012, and has been a leading foundation dam within the stud.

Grandsire 'Kryptonite' was a standout calf who grew into a magnificent sire. RNA Champion brangus bull in 2016, this gentle giant went on to sire a large portion of our female breeding herd, before being sold to Cedar Valley Brangus. Weighing in at over 1200kg and 152 ema when last recorded, he was a beautiful big bull with an incredibly docile nature.

Dynamite Soloman S06 is sired by Telpara Hills Element 468P42, whose breeding needs no introduction, featuring TH Ace of Spades 541K21 and TH Miss Final Cut 468K5. Element was purchased from the Inaugural Telpara Hills Sale in 2020 for his shape, EBVs and super tidy underline, and he has made an impact from the first calf that hit the ground in 2021. They are born small and vigorous, and grow like weeds. Incredibly docile in nature, with excellent feet and legs and thick as a brick, Element has added an extra inch in width to his progeny, which can be seen in the scan data on his progeny. Soloman scanned an ema of 137 at 24 months, proving hes built full of red meat and will give his calves the extra punch producers are looking for.

Offered for sale at the Rockhampton Brangus Sale 2023 as lot 276, we look forward to presenting him on October 9th.

Thankyou to Leegra fitting service to taking our 2 bulls, Soloman and Simba up to Rockhampton for the Brangus feature show. Both bulls, now 21 months, weighed over 800kg, and were very well behaved. Simba placed 3rd in his class and Soloman was unplaced. Although not quite the result we were hoping for, and disappointed we couldnt attend and see them judged or to catch up with other breeders and see the other brangus on display, we are still glad we could have them up there and on display in preparation for the sale in October, with thanks to Les and Leanne and their team.
Both boys were happy to be home and back with their mates after their week away.

It was an exciting afternoon at home, with our two older show bulls, Simba (pictured) and Soloman (both now 18 months old) getting nose ringed in preparation for the upcoming show season. We thought they best have a tie up since they havent had a halter on since they were 12 months old. Safe to say they hadnt forgotten, however i will have to get new show halters made as they are not little bulls anymore and their heads are alot bigger than i had realised.

Ontop of that, Dynamite Roulette R03 (Starbra Sir George x The Meadows Iona (dec) had a baby heifer calf unaided this morning. Calf was up and having a feed when i discovered her this afternoon, and Roulette was doing everything right. Roulette is the first of our F1 breeding program females to calve to Telpara Hills Element; so this calf is very much the result of the next step in our breeding and development plan.

A young stud heifer calf out of a first calf Kryptonite heifer by TH Element. Her grand dam is D. Jaffa who is the dam of our Ekka 2022 junior champion Bull D. Simba. T17 is very typical of the heifers we have produced this year. Because we have produced such a nice consistent line of heifers - predominantly by Element and out of Kryptonite females - we have decided to offer a small selection at the Rockhampton Brangus Sale in October 2023 to compliment our bull sale team (which includes D. Simba).

Checking out the F1 calves this afternoon and this little lady was asking for her photo taken. She goes back to the old Raff Burnette C18 cow and is by our 3D Platinum x Brahrock miss elmo Anna Bella brahman bull. The heifer next to her goes back to K5X Legend and is showing plenty to like aswell. Some pretty special genetics through this mob.

We will have 4 bulls to sell next year - 3 stud bulls (the first of our TH Element bulls) and 1 F1. These fellas are currently 14 - 16 months and growing out well on a light protein meal ration and coastal grasses. Looking forward to seeing how they grow and mature. Currently covered in mud from all the rain we have had.

The wait is finally over. *long post*
The last stud calf was born over night and doesnt this cow and calf have a story to tell...

Let me tell you the story if you care to read.

It was picked up at preg testing that Polly was unintentionally joined late when I brought 4 cows and calves and the brangus bull home together after the joining period to feed and break in their 2021 calves. They were only together 7 days until we brought the brahman bull home, and they were then separated. Had I not done that she would have been empty.

She then went through a huge flood while only 6 weeks in calf. You might remember the post where the stable roof had a metre of water over it and the cows has to be rescued off their little patch of mud and walked up the streets to higher ground.
Had we not got stranded over that side of the creek on the friday and subsequently been there to shift them on the Saturday after staying with some strangers, they would have had no ground left to stand on. The flood was alot bigger than expected and previously that patch of ground had never gone under.

Following on from that they were trucked back to Amamoor to mums place as they couldnt return home, mud covered everything in sight.

With all the wet and a few warmer days in the mix, the ticks suddenly exploaded, which happened during a 2nd smaller flood and subsequently prevented us from getting to the cattle and being able to treat them (and mum cant do it alone).
Most of the cattle hardly had anything on them, however this cow got hit hard. Even though she was treated and the rest of the herd cleaned up with no ill effect, Polly went down hill after contracting pneumonia and being severely anaemic at 12 weeks in calf. We have never had a cow be hit that hard before.

She had had every injection possible, her skin bathed and creams applied to the huge skin infection that broke out (like rain scald from being wet) and molasses water and lucern hay hand fed 3 times a day. There was nothing more to be done and it was all up to her.

Everything seemed to be slowly working and an improvement was being seen, however after a week or so, my mum rang me to say she had declined over night and now couldn't get her to even stand, we thought the end was immenent.

It was decided euthanasia was the kindest option and the call was made. Luckily (in hindsight) they were unable to get to her until late that afternoon, and suddenly sometime around midday Polly got back up on her feet unassisted.

With the cow back on her feet we cancelled her appointment and took back the 'wait and see approach' - she wasnt done yet.

It took a very long time for Polly to recover. After 10 days in the yards she was placed in the house side paddock where mum would continue to feed and water her morning and night next to the house. The paddock was opened up so she could join the herd again, however she did not leave the house paddock for another month. The swelling in her legs slowly went down, her hair started to grow back, and she slowly put on weight - very slowly! She lost the end of her tail though.

Naturally it was assumed she would lose the calf, which was fine, the focus was just on getting her back to healthy and to hopefully join her next year, or atleast to not be fertiliser.

Well somehow she didn't lose it, and my mum has been impatiently waiting for 3 weeks or so since she started to bag up for this poddy to join us earth side. Calving completely unassisted last night, it's incredible how tough cattle can be.

Welcome little one...
